This ice fishing season is off to a great start! I’d like to thank everyone for your business. Unfortunately, there are some fishermen who are not paying what they should. I have addressed some of these people already and the police have even knocked on a few doors. I don’t enjoy this part of having a shop, but the thieving has to stop! I’m not talking about the guys that are a dollar short or took an extra fish, I’m after the guys taking what they want and putting a few bucks in the box! I’ve let some things slide that I probably shouldn’t have but from here on out if I can prove theft, you will be getting a knock on your door.

Meadowbrook bait will have two locations again this year. The China shop is open now and the Union shop will be open this Wednesday. Both shops will be 24/7 self service and will now be accepting Venmo as well as cash.

Meadowbrook bait is stocked up with all sizes of shiners and will have a fresh batch of smelts mid day tomorrow at both Union and China locations.

I caught some smelts last night. I’ll let them harden up over night and have them in both China and Union shops by mid day tomorrow. There are also plenty of shiners in both shops.

Both shops are self serve and are now open.
Last year was a tough year for smelts but I’m going to do my best to keep the shops stocked with all sizes of shiners, suckers and smelts.
