Today I'm especially grateful for this wonderful guy, who spends countless hours helping at The Nerdy Word, supporting our family, and doing whatever needs to be done without being asked.

Whether you're spending the day with family, making memories, working a shift, or simply enjoying a quiet moment, I hope you know how much your love, guidance, wisdom, and steady presence matter.

If you're enjoying the Fourth of July festivities in Union Grove, please feel free to stop in. Whether you're looking for a fun "waiting-for-the-parade" book, need a break from the heat, or just need to use the restroom during the parade, our doors will be open and you're always welcome.

This morning, Birdie from Baking Bird was out front planting the planters at The Nerdy Word, and it reminded me once again how fortunate I am to be part of this community.

When you're navigating a season where time and energy are limited, the things you can't get to have a way of piling up. Yet over and over, people step in with quiet acts of kindness that make all the difference. No fanfare, no expectation of anything in return -just people helping because they care.

Today it was Birdie, making sure our storefront is bright, welcoming, and beautiful for everyone who visits. It's a heartfelt act that means so much to me.

Thank you, Birdie. And thank you to this community that continues to show up with generosity, encouragement, and helping hands. I am deeply grateful for every kindness that has carried me through this year. ❤️

One of the most meaningful things we can do for the children in our lives is share stories that help them understand both our history and one another.

Good news for anyone who has been thinking about joining our Build Your Summer TBR Read With An Aura event!

The registration deadline was originally today, June 16, but Anna Thompson, founder of Read With An Aura, has graciously extended the deadline to Thursday, June 18. That means you still have a little extra time to sign up and discover your reading personality.

If you've ever wondered why certain books resonate so deeply with you, or why your favorite reads might be completely different from your friends' favorites, this fun and insightful quiz is for you.

Participants will receive:

Join us from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. for our FREE Women's Wellness discussion: Healthy Skin From the Inside Out, led by nationally certified Ayurvedic practitioner Tresa Laferty.

Summer means more sunshine, more time outdoors, and more attention on the health of our skin. Tresa will share practical tips for supporting healthy skin from the inside out, with special insight into the changes that can come with aging and menopause.

As a special bonus, attendees will receive skin care recipes to take home and try for themselves!
