Green Mountain Amps sales and repair of vintage tube amplifiers

Finished up the Filmosound amp. After a lot of experimenting I decided to use a James style tone control which allows for cut or boost of bass and treble.
Sorry the talking is so quiet compared to the guitar. I'll try to make a better video next time.

Apparently I haven't posted anything since last year 🙀 Amps have been on the back burner for awhile but I've been starting to spend more time in the shop. Here's a preview of a project that took a long time to get off the ground but it's starting to come together. This is a film projector amp from the 40's converted for guitar. The circuit has been completely rebuilt. This Filmosound made its first sounds in who knows how long tonight. Not done yet but in the final stages for this one, should be a fun amp 😎

The rough part of fixing amps. Testing phase 🤣. Thought I'd throw a mic on this amp for a demo before it went back home. It's pretty well cranked here.
Towards the end of the video I turn it up all the way. This one literally goes to 12. That's two more than 10 isn't it 😉

Got to fix this Tungsten boutique amp called the Buckwheat. Their take on a tweed deluxe. Interesting to note the changes they made. Higher powered to use 6L6 power tubes. This one needed a new set and a few new parts inside. It's pretty loud as soon as you roll up the volume past 1.

Fixed my first amp since summertime tonight. Took a long break but I’m hoping to keep the momentum going and start spending time in the shop. I did get these racks put together recently. Everything on the first rack works, most of the stuff on the second rack needs restoration. In the coming months, I’ll be making some improvements to the space.

Ended up going back to the home for a second haul out. I bought a bunch of amp chassis, some new, some partially built with transformers, etc. I haven’t even looked through the stuff much yet but there’s good tubes, transformers and all kinds of cool stuff. This is an investment for me, but I’m well stocked now for building a bunch of amps. Shouldn’t need to buy any expensive parts for a good while.

I bought a great lot of 26 amp and speaker cabinets today. Right place at the right time and I’m taking it as a sign to keep moving in the direction of building my own amps. I expect most of these to end up with someone else eventually. I haven’t spent much time working on amps in the last few months because, as some of you may know, I’ve been dealing with some heavy life stuff in 2025. My partner of 25 years Rebecca passed on last Friday after a battle with breat cancer, so I’ll be continuing to concentrate on my personal life for a bit and readjusting to being a single parent (even though my kids are technically adults).
As far as amp repairs go, once I get back into it I’ll finish with any repairs I’ve already committed to then wrap up some of my own projects that have been on pause. After that (later this year?) I will be open to take in repairs again as time allows. Feel free to message me if you have any questions and I’ll get back to you at my convenience. I’m always happy to give free advice if you’re contemplating buying something from whoever or having trouble with your equipment. If you’re thinking about bringing me something to repair I’d much rather hear about it before you buy it than have to give you some bad news after you buy it😉. ✌️&❤️ Nate.

Demo of Traynor YSR-1 with 4 x 12 cabinet and 4 x 10 cabinet. This is too much amp to play inside so I dragged this stuff out on my porch to try it out.

Haven't had much time to work on amps lately but I thought I'd share this traynor amp I bought yesterday. Pairs with the 4 x 10 cabinet and came with a separate 4 x 12 cabinet that my buddy wants. It's already been well serviced (probably by Dan at FYD amps) and seems to work great. I love the separate standby and operate mode lights.

Just finished up this 1979 Traynor YSR-1. This is a 50 watt amp with reverb and tremolo. It was barely putting out any clean power when it came in. It's a beast after servicing. Loud AF! Traynor amps are a great value. Very serviceable.
