Nancy Bates created this pattern inspired by the beauty of Glacier National Park. The Yarn Shop’s hat kit features gorgeous hand-dyed yarn from Western Sky Knits, dyed right in Montana, and it’s the exact yarn Nancy suggests (pattern not included). We’re so excited to host a Classic Knit Tank Top class this summer - the perfect next-step project for knitters wanting to try their first garment 🧶

In this class, you’ll learn how to knit a top-down tank using a classic summer knit construction. It’s a great introduction to garment knitting in a supportive, crafty environment!

This class is best suited for knitters who already have basic knitting skills and are ready to step a little outside their comfort zone and try something new!

Class dates: June 17, 24, July 1, & 8
Time: 6 - 8pm (4 sessions)

We also have the beautiful Meraki yarn in stock, which is absolutely perfect for this project ✨ We do have other yarn options available too, but Meraki quantities are limited - so if you’ve had your eye on it, now’s the time to grab your supplies!

🧶Beginner Knit Class @ The Yarn Shop 🧶

Join us for a cozy, beginner-friendly class where we’ll walk you through all the basics. You’ll learn how to knit and purl as you make the Idaho dishcloth - the perfect first knitting project. And don’t worry about supplies, we’ve got everything covered.

Class dates: June 10 & 12
Time: 6 - 7:30pm (2 sessions)
Cost: $58

It’s the perfect starting point if you’ve never picked up needles before, or if you just want a gentle refresher in a welcoming space 🫶

Whether you’re heading out camping, road tripping, relaxing by the lake, or soaking up slow summer evenings on the porch, these hats were made to travel with you 🌲

Our “Knitting the USA” hat kits are the perfect grab-and-go project ~ and such a fun way to take a little piece of home (or your favorite state) along on your adventures.

We currently have 11 states available in kit form, with more on the way 👀 The kits include the yarn needed for each hat, a faux leather tag, and stitch marker set. Patterns are sold separately, but there's options! We can print the pattern for you right here in the shop, add it to your Ravelry, and we also carry the “Knitting the USA” pattern book by Nancy Bates!

And if you think one hat won’t be enough… no worries, we got you! We also have 55 National Park hat kits, with more on the way, so you can keep the adventure going ✨

Ready to take your knitting to the next level? This class is perfect for confident beginners who know the basics and are ready to try something new

If you’ve been curious about sock knitting but weren’t sure where to start, we’ve got you. We’ll guide you step by step as you learn how to knit a DK weight sock using the magic loop method - a total game changer for knitting in the round.

Class dates: May 13, May 20, & June 3
Time: 6 - 8pm (3 sessions)
Cost: $90

Your class fee includes instruction over all three sessions, the pattern, and 10% off a one-time purchase of your supplies.

It’s the perfect way to grow your skills, build confidence, and try something a little outside your comfort zone - with lots of support along the way 🫶
