Hey, been working or orders for people (and don't want to share their personalized gifts) so it has been a while since I posted. I just sublimated this color sample image (a subliflower, thank you Jennifer Maker) to show how the colors look on a white item. I have some light colored shirts ordered so I can test to see how the transparent ink shows on other colors. I will keep you posted.

Fun Facts Friday:

Sublimation printing skips the liquid phase. Ink transitions directly from solid to gas (sublimation), and back to solid when it hits material, requiring no drying time.

The "No Feel" Factor - Unlike screen printing or vinyl, sublimation ink becomes part of the fabric, meaning you can't feel the design at all.

Things to know about Sublimation Printing on shirts and other fabrics:

Fabric: 100% polyester is ideal for maximum vibrancy, though at least 65% polyester can be used.
Fabric Color: White or light-colored fabrics are necessary because sublimation ink is transparent and will not show on dark colors.
Printer & Ink: A specialized inkjet printer loaded with sublimation dye inks.
Sublimation Paper: High-quality transfer paper to hold the ink before pressing.
Heat Press: A flat heat press is essential for applying even pressure and high heat.

One of the many things that can be done with sublimation printing... business cards! They are very thin aluminum and can be sublimated on both sides. They are a bit more involved than most other projects, but they turn out well.
