TUBACHRISTMAS was conceived in 1974 by Harvey Phillips as a tribute to his teacher and mentor William J. Through the legendary William J. Bell we reflect on our heritage and honor all great artists/teachers whose legacy has given us high performance standards, well structured pedagogy, professional integrity, personal values and a camaraderie envied by all other instrumentalists. ISTMAS was conducted by Paul Lavalle in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza Ice Rink on Sunday, December 22, 1974. Traditional Christmas music performed at the first TUBACHRISTMAS was arranged by American composer Alec Wilder who ironically died on Christmas Eve, 1980. Wilder composed many solo and ensemble compositions for tuba and euphonium. He was a loyal supporter of every effort to improve the literature and public image of our chosen instruments. Through Alec Wilder we express our respect and gratitude to all composers who continue to embrace our instruments with their compositions and contribute to the ever growing solo and ensemble repertoire for tuba and euphonium.

Today was AMAZING!!!! Thank you to all that came out to perform and support your performers today! It was a little ❄️🥶 but it was very Christmassy!!! Congratulations on being part of a record breaking TubaChristmas Tulsa performance! It is now officially Christmas season!

IMPORTANT REMINDER
I am going to stop all online orders and pre-registrations Thursday 12/4/25 around 9pm CENTRAL so that we can get everything organized and ready for Sunday. Don't worry, you can still REGISTER, buy books, hats, scarves, etc. Sunday at NOON.

REMINDER of DETAILS: SUNDAY DEC. 7TH

-REGISTRATION NOON - JENKS MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND ROOM
3019 E 101st St S, Tulsa, OK 74137 - SEE PHOTO

-REHEARSAL 1PM-3PM(ish) - PLEASE leave ALL CASES in your vehicle. Space will be tight. BRING YOUR STANDS - Parents are welcome to stay for rehearsal. Performers (parents) are responsible for transportation to the Mall for the performance.

-CONCERT: 4pm TULSA PREMIUM OUTLETS
801 E Outlet Dr, Jenks, OK 74037 - Main court

Please LEAVE CASES in your vehicle, BRING YOUR STANDS,
DRESS WARMLY - there will be a few patio heaters, but still it's going to be pretty chilly. (45 degrees or so)
