Introducing our next talented artisan - Barrel Proof Leather!
As a night shift nurse, Liam first turned to leather as a way to stay busy while his wife was working on her master's degree. But with the pandemic and the weight it put on healthcare workers, in 2020, leather evolved into Liam’s solace. Designing and building bags by hand gave Liam a way to process, create, and keep moving forward, all while managing his now impossibly complex career. Leather was his refuge, and carried him through to today, where Barrel Proof leather continues to make ultimately unique and skillfully made bags. Liam loves challenging himself to find new and complex ways to construct 3-dimensional shapes out of a 2-dimensional material, and he’s absolutely succeeded in making some of the most eye-catching creations. He loves everything about the process - the tools, honor paid to his material, the longevity of his creations - and you can absolutely see and feel the passion he pours into all he creates. We really can’t wait for you to see his collection, as not only are his unique bags made with the utmost skill, but his designs are entirely his own and downright incredible🔥 Meet Liam and the rest of our awesome artisans at Desert Air Market on March 7th from 11am - 5 pm!

Introducing our next maker - Desert Rat Stitchings!
Max, the skilled hands behind the designs, creates cross-stitched and embroidered magnets and wall décor that turn simple fiber into expressive, handmade art. Desiring to express their creative ideas - and finding that drawing was just not cutting it - Max started stitching in 2019. This medium has been transformative, and through embroidery, Max found not only the ability to express their artistic visions - they’ve also learned to be more patient with themselves. Talk about a rewarding medium! On top of their delightful hand-stitched creations, Max has spent the last 6 months teaching themselves block printing - something that has helped them gain more confidence in their drawing abilities as well as expand their creativity. For Max, it’s all about experimenting, learning, and proving that through it all, practice is the secret sauce to self-expansion 🧵 We love their commitment to themselves and their creative practice, and we just know you’ll be delighted by their current collection. Meet Max, grab a hand-stitched cutie, and say hi to the rest of our talented creatives at Desert Air Market on March 7th (this Saturday!) from 11 am to 5 pm!

Meet our next talented artisan - Hands of the People!
For Maria, Hands of the People began with a genuine love for handmade goods, thoughtful design, and creative expression. Her business launched several years ago, when she decided to expand on her deep appreciation for unique, high-quality, and handmade items. Today, Hands of the People is the go-to shop for hats, bags, accessories, and much more. She loves every moment of the process - from selecting pieces, displaying them cohesively, to connecting with customers at markets, where Maria prioritizes creating a welcoming space for folks to explore and learn about her finds. Maria’s goal is simple: to bring you pieces that feel special, well-made, and perfect for everyday use. We love the double-discovery aspect of her business: first, Maria seeks out and selects the more incredible of pieces, and then, her customers (aka you on Saturday!) get to discover their next favorite accessory. It’s a win-win for everyone who shops Hands of the People - not only are you going home with something truly original and well-made, but it’s also Maria’s favorite thing to see someone find something they truly love 💖 Meet Maria and take home a treasure when you shop Desert Air Market, and the rest of our lovely artists, at Desert Air Market on March 7th from 11am to 5 pm!

Meet our next artist - Back Atcha Glass!
Madeline is an environmentalist and a lover girl at heart, creating stained glass pieces rooted in sincerity, reflection, and what she lovingly calls “reckless optimism.” Devoting themselves to glass (and the dangers it entails) since 2021, her latest designs range from metaphysical to risque to political, always thoughtfully designed and crafted with precision. Adjusting to a life of unexpected neurodivergence and chronic pain has tested her resilience, but ultimately proves her commitment to optimism; throughout it all, she still shows up for her community, and uses any spare spoons she has to create meaningful, light-catching work. In the studio, they craft traditional stained glass suncatchers alongside custom pet memorial pieces - a deeply personal offering they’re passionate about expanding (pet parents, you know what to do!). The name “Back Atcha” reflects Madeline’s belief that kindness is a mirror - the beauty you see in others' lives within you, too. We can’t wait for you to shop her glimmering collection, set up your own perfect commission, or even participate in her Silent Auction benefitting Juntos Fund, a mutual aid group supporting undocumented families across Tucson. Meet Madeline and the rest of our incredible creatives at Desert Air Market on March 7th from 11 AM–5 PM! 🌈

Meet our next lovely artisan - BYNDbooks!
With over 15 years of experience, Nicole is a local handmade bookmaker who creates jaw-droppingly gorgeous books and journals. This calling rests at the intersection of two of her passions - fine paper products and thread weaving - allowing her to create intuitively from a place of deep inspiration. Thematically, her work honors our Southwest landscape, while nodding to her Pacific Northwest roots - think earthy palettes, woven color, and classic structures. While crafting her stunning creations, Nicole strives to use eco-conscious and sustainable materials, like beeswax conditioners, pure brass posts (rather than brass-plated), and recycled leather when available, as well as 100% post-consumer recycled paper - all sourced locally whenever possible. There’s truly so much to love when it comes to BYNDbooks! If you’ve yet to get into a casual journaling practice - let this be your sign✍️Nicole’s works are meant to gently hold and safely guard everything from your sweetest thoughts to deepest fears, and even simple shopping lists. This traditional practice of putting pen to paper is one that Nicole has a deep gratitude for - and one we also champion as important for all. Grab your next journal when you meet Nicole and the rest of our lovely makers at Desert Air Market on March 7th from 11am to 5 pm!

Meet our fearless leader - Sonoran Rosie!
From desert daydreams to building community spaces, Rosie is the heart and hustle behind it all 🌵✨ Their journey began in 2017 after studying with a local herbalist and falling in love with the healing magic of plants. What started as curiosity quickly blossomed into a line of soothing, sustainable, gender-neutral products that honor the essence of our desert home. Each jar and bottle is crafted with thoughtfully sourced (and typically hand- foraged) botanicals and a deep commitment to keeping things local, ethical, and rooted in community. And Rosie doesn’t stop there! Beyond their handmade creations, they’re also a recently published author and the owner of Arizona Poppy - a colorful downtown Tucson gift shop showcasing the work of 80+ local artists and makers (including many you’ll spot at this weekend’s market!). Rosie’s dedication to uplifting the desert and the people who call it home is something special - she is community first, through and through! Between her incredible creations and those she fosters in her shop, we’re sure you’ll find something to love in her booth. Meet Rosie and all of our incredible makers at Desert Air Market this Saturday, March 7th, from 11 AM–5 PM!

Meet our next lovely jeweler - Hazy Honor!
Everyone who has met Noah knows their stunning works are rivaled only by their amazing personality. This kind-hearted local gem (no pun intended!) first tried their hand at wire wrapping back in 2021, and it wasn’t long after completing their first ring that they jumped into silversmithing as well. Noah has always been drawn to the natural beauty of gemstones, believing they each hold their own unique character, that’s just waiting to be expressed with the right care and attention. As they strive to hand-source their own local gemstones (eco hero!) they’ve found that wearing these special pieces allows them to feel more connected to nature, which in turn inspires them to get back to treasure hunting and creating for us all. Noah wants their work to spread that feeling, and to allow others to deepen their connection with nature as well - and as all existing Hazy Honor customers can attest, they have succeeded! We love their expansive passion for all that can be found here in Arizona, and cannot wait for you to find your next treasure amongst their collection 🐚From their rock tumbler to your digits, shop the magic of HazyHonor when you meet Noah and the rest of our lovely artists at Desert Air Market on March 7th from 11am to 5pm!

Introducing our next cool carver, Emma Radulski Art!
After Emma and her partner decided to put down roots in Tucson, she found herself seeking something creative and tactile, and serendipitously stumbled upon the perfect thing: her high school block print of a bee and honeycomb. Remembering how much she’d loved those art classes (shout out to educators!), Emma quickly set up a home studio, and her headfirst dive back into printmaking was a resounding success. Working primarily in linocut (linoleum relief printmaking), Emma now creates detailed, whimsical, and joyful art inspired by nature, q***r identity, and the beauty of the human form. They don’t limit themselves to any particular theme or purpose, instead allowing their passions, life, and emotions to guide their designs - but always creating something born from, and meant to spread, effortless happiness. From initial sketches to the final design, to carving (and carving, and carving), to inking a block for the first time and seeing it on paper - there’s little in life that Emma loves more. This lifelong creator has found their calling, carving out happy designs for the Tucson community, and we can’t wait for you to meet them and peruse their lovely collection. Say hi to Emma and the rest of our lovely artists at Desert Air Market on March 7th from 11am to 5pm!
