Have you ever wondered where you can get a custom 16 bar melody composed just for you from a future famous musician??? Well, I have your answer! As part of this year's Pearson Ranch Middle School Orchestra Fundraiser, Scooter has decided he wants to compose a little something for everyone who donates on his behalf! Donating is easy, just follow the link to the Round Rock School Pearson Ranch Middle School Orchestra page and scroll down to the "PRMS Orchestra Donation Drive." Select an amount, add to cart and checkout! Just make sure to let us know so we can add your melody to the queue. A custom audio recording will be emailed to you to use in any non-commercial way you choose. He retains rights to the music he writes! And this is his brainstorm for helping his journey towards becoming a professional musician.

1st post move update! We have successfully relocated the humans, canines, and guineas. Most of the tools are in TX, the "shop" is outdoors. But I have a Double Bass to fix, and glue doesn't like being 30°. So, kitchen is now the shop (at least until the glue dries). Two very happy tiny people got to start String Project at UT, and I had several supervisors from the trees whilst they gathered snacks ahead of tonight's forecasted snow.

I had the chance to chat with a longtime friend this afternoon about this very topic...pride in workmanship. This is the signature from the master carpenter who built this door/music rest on the Fischer piano I decommissioned (likely all the scrollwork as well). Notice the '92 year under the signature?? As in 1892. When the Fischer was originally made. Over 120 years ago. I will figure out how to save portions of this for future integrations. Signed by an artisan and still functional after 120 years.

I KNOW we have a way better picture of the organ stop console somewhere. I still have no clue where! This mounts with a French cleat to give the "floating" effect. Who's ready for some shopping??? We've missed regular updates, so here's our BIG discount.... 40% off all currently re-trained music instrument creations (pieces that are already finished and ready for new homes)!!!

We are getting ready to move across state lines (no more for us 😢), and we'd love to find new homes rather than pack up our gorgeous friends waiting in the wings. Old school cool...this was my grandfather's level. I've found myself using it regularly for miscellaneous projects around the house, and for Elemental Concepts. Every time I pick it up, it makes me feel good...not sure how to qualify/quantify/explain the "good". Just right. Ya know???

We did some major adjustments to the laser settings and managed to reduce our run time from 1 hour 17 minutes per 12 pic...

We did some major adjustments to the laser settings and managed to reduce our run time from 1 hour 17 minutes per 12 picks to just over 34 minutes!?!?!?! Oooooohhhhhh, rrrriiiggghhhhtttt, there was also a laser upgrade involved on the setting adjustments 😁. Turns out there was a discrepancy between manufacturer settings (what we were using) and longevity best practices. In short, the laser lased itself while lasing, preventing us from doing laser work 😉. Pic 2 shows the difference between sizes of a 5Watt and 20 Watt diode laser. While 4 times the output power, it is just over double the size.

Most of the time, we strive for functional art! Sometimes it's just art, and occasionally it's just function. One of the last week or so's projects...reorganizing our holiday/stuff storage and building racks for everything! The new racks hold 30 black and yellow Costco storage bins (Home Depot bins are different dimensions). Et Voila! We can pull just one bin at a time for summer gear, Easter decorations, Camper stuff, or Christmas village. WITHOUT having to pull five other things out just to get to the one we wanted.

Just pickin' love! Figuring out how to work more efficiently to get more love in the world. Staining and finishing the sheets first takes about 5 minutes of "hands on" time versus about an hour after they're in Pick form! Had to tweak my settings a bit, but we certainly gained some efficiency!
