Did you know that Polish pottery patterns are stamped by hand? Artists dip pre-cut sponges into brightly colored underglaze and then press each sponge repeatedly onto the unfired, bisqued clay while rotating the piece on a turntable to create perfectly repeated, consistent motifs.

In one of the photos, yellowish orange flowers with brown centers, various shades of green foliage, and tiny blue flowers with darker orange centers have all been hand-stamped. In the other photo, the artist's skill is clearly shown in his or her ability to "fit" all the flowers onto the piece of pottery. Very talented! On your next visit to Tremont Gallery, take a moment to enjoy the artistic beauty of Polish pottery.

Each Polish pottery piece is truly a work of art to be used to enjoy making, serving, and eating food. Polish pottery is durable and is freezer-safe, dishwasher-safe, oven-safe and microwave-safe.

Get ready to make a Patriotic Composition using the Zentangle drawing method. Sue Dion will be teaching this class at Pearl Street Stamping on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Beginners are welcome, but some Zentangle experience is beneficial. Basic components - tangles, shading, and a bit of color will be taught during class. Participants will finish the drawing at home.
