What a day to be part of the Architectural Woodwork Institute Great Lakes Chapter!

We kicked off our Spring meeting this week in Detroit with a tour of GANAS — one of the newest members of the AWI family — and wow, did they make an impression. Their shop is housed in a former Detroit manufacturing plant that has been brought back to life, and walking through it felt like watching the city's industrial spirit get a second act. The craftsmanship, the energy, the space itself — it all hit differently knowing what this building has been through.

After the tour, the group wrapped up the day the only way that made sense: catching the Tigers game together. Good baseball, good people.

This is exactly what AWI chapter meetings are about — getting out of the conference room, seeing real work happening in real spaces, and building the kind of relationships that actually move this industry forward.

Huge thanks to the team at GANAS for opening their doors and showing us what they're building. Welcome to the family. 🔨

Proud to share a recent win for our team — a highly successful renovation at Grand Valley State University’s Battle Creek campus.

This project had the odds stacked against us from day one:
• Fast-tracked schedule with zero room for delay
• A brand-new general contractor we had never partnered with before
• And the added complexities that come with any active renovation environment

Despite all of that, our team delivered exactly what we promise — On Time, In Full, with the level of quality, coordination, and attention to detail our partners count on. The final result turned out fantastic, and every party involved walked away proud of the outcome.

Projects like this are why we love what we do. On to the next. 💪

Excited to highlight our work on the remodel of NIIJII inside Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. This project combined tight timelines, an active resort environment, and a high design standard — exactly the kind of challenge our team thrives on.

Strata Design provided custom laminate millwork, Hanstone Quartz countertops, wall systems, a new reception desk, and privacy screens, all crafted to support a modern, hospitality-forward aesthetic. Close coordination with Grand Traverse Construction ensured a smooth installation with minimal impact on daily operations.

Proud of our team for delivering exceptional craftsmanship under pressure — and grateful for the partnerships that made this project a success.

This Christmas season, several members of the Strata Design team had the opportunity to volunteer with the local Salvation Army Toy Shop!

It was a meaningful and rewarding experience to support families in our community and help make the holidays a little brighter for children in need. Events like this remind us how powerful it can be when people come together with a shared purpose.

We’re incredibly proud of our team for giving their time, energy, and holiday spirit, and we’re grateful for the chance to support such an impactful organization this season.

On December 10th, our team came together for a wonderful company Christmas party at the Elks Lodge. It was a great evening filled with good food, laughs, and time spent connecting outside of the day-to-day work!

We’re grateful for the hard work, dedication, and teamwork shown throughout the year, and it was great to take a moment to celebrate together.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the night a success. Wishing our team and their families a happy and safe holiday season!

🍂 Friendsgiving at Strata! 🦃

Last week, our team came together for a company Friendsgiving. We catered in HoneyBaked Ham, and our team brought an amazing variety of homemade sides for a true potluck feast.

It was eaten so fast we could not get a picture of all the great sides!

Events like this remind us how grateful we are for the people who make Strata such a great place to work. It’s not just about the food (though it was really good) — it’s about spending quality time with one another.

Thankful for this team and everything we’ve accomplished together this year!
