We have a big announcement!
Most of you know I love everything to do with Bikesport! But I love a lot of other things too, like family, travel, and relaxation! This is why, when Jeff Lorish and his wife, Morgan Uebele contacted me last year to ask if my retirement plans included finding new owners for Bikesport, I said YES! Since then, we've worked hard at making a plan for them to take over in early 2023. This nicely coincides with my 65th birthday.
I'm happy that Jeff & Morgan have decided to keep the store name, the staff, and the policies that you've come to expect. They will bring enthusiasm and new ideas to Bikesport, while keeping the traditions that the Politz family brought to the business when we opened in 1990 and kept for 32 years. My family, especially my grown kids, have never known a life that didn't include Bikesport and the cycling community. They are fully supportive of my decision to take this next step. A special thanks to them and to all the staff members over the years that helped in the success of Bikesport.
You may remember Jeff as a former 13 year dedicated and valuable employee of Bikesport, and his life goal has always been to own his own bike shop. Now, with Morgan at his side, they have teamed up to make this dream a reality. The plan comes together in January, and we will work together in the store for a period of time that ensures a smooth transition.
You have always been our valued customers and have trusted us from the very beginning and I know you will continue to do so. I am so thankful!
