“I spoke to Doug, our NC farmer today. Things are warming up in NC. No rain, warmer temps. We are going to touch base again on Thursday and see how things are looking. But we are getting closer. I don’t have a date yet, but when I do I’ll reach out right away.”

Message from our farmer!! Strawberries are still ripening which is good because they’re getting sweeter!! 🥰🥰. Will post an update on Thursday! Thanks for hanging with us…We’re super excited to taste this batch!! 🧑‍🌾🍓🍓🍓

On another note….guess what went into the smoker this morning….HORSERADISH AND BACON!!! 🥓 ❤️. Will be ready about 1:00 today! 😀

Reminder….its Mother’s Day weekend!! Don’t wait until the last minute, stop by and let us build her a basket full of snacks and goodies OR better yet, come get a pan of our famous foodtruck pulled pork and Mac (frozen, just need baked for 1 hour). Easy peasy and she doesn’t have to cook. 🙂

Plus….someone asked me the other day if we were doing more strawberries. 🍓 Here’s my answer…people are mean about fruit sometimes and I wasn’t built for that 😂. My biggest struggle as a business owner is when I fail or disappoint my customers. We make plenty of mistakes (some I know are because I INSIST on staffing our local teens and for a lot of them it’s their first job. I don’t want to change that. I love the mentorship and how I am teaching them lessons in small business everyday….someday they’ll appreciate my craziness when they get their first “career” job. With this, comes more mistakes). These kids are capable of more than we give them credit for though and I know they’ll use these huge lessons to grow our community someday!

Okay, sorry about my rant. Point being, some people weren’t happy with the last batch of strawberries that came in from Florida and to be honest, They were WAY less sweet than what we’ve been spoiled with when we order in fresh fruit. TODAY, I got a message from my contact who says a farmer in North Carolina has a great crop that should be ready in late May. I kinda want to try them!! Apparently they’re very sweet and I’m intrigued. 🙂

Is anyone else interested in giving these strawberries a shot? If you’d like to pre order, list your name below and I’ll post the Venmo shortly to pre pay. We must have at least a pallet for the farmer to deliver to us. Sooo, Watcha think??
