Another Garbage Can Turkey tip. You can precook your turkey prior to your gathering if you want. To keep it warm after you cook it, line a cooler with newspaper, wrap your turkey completely in tinfoil when it's done and put it in the cooler, then cover the tinfoil covered bird with newspaper and close the cooler. It will stay warm four hours.

Here's a little tip on carving a turkey. Let the turkey rest about an hour after cooking it, lightly covered in foil. Find the breastbone of the turkey and cut one entire breast off at a time rather than carving slices directly off the bird. Then slice the breast in 1/2 inch slices. It will retain much more of the moisture.
