Herkimer Diamonds come from exposed outcrops of 500 million year old Little Falls demolition rock in and around Herkimer County and the Mohawk River in upstate New York. Silica rich water crystallized inside tiny cavities with in the rock, creating natural double-terminated shapes. First discovered in the late 1700s.

Similar double-terminated is found in Pakistan, China, and Arizona.

Sneak peek crystal update. I am overwhelmed with the amount of new crystals, but its a great problem to have. I will be working on this huge crystal update over the next couple of days, speading the updates out with multiple post. There are still 500 more crystals that will be arriving over the next couple of weeks. I am aslo working on crystal organizing on the shelves. This will make it easier for all of you to find the crystals your are after.

Update: My mother is back in her assisted living home. There is all new staff with better training to handle my mom behavior while protecting everybody from harm. We are hopeful that this will lead to better quality of life and care. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

We did have a nice time with mom while she was staying with us and we tried to make it like a vacation for her. I loved every minute of the extra time we had together.

Good Morning Crystal Lovers.

Life is always so busy that there is little time left for fun. This week my husband and I took a couple of hours to go rock hounding. We went to Grandfather's Dam near our house. We wading around in the river while enjoying the weather. We found some pretty cool crystals and rocks. Here is a couple pictures of our finds both wet and dry.

I am saddened to announce that we will be closed on Mondays for the rest on August. Do to some serious issues at my mom's assisted living home we had to remove her temporarily and she is residing with us. The assisted living home was working on fixing the many issues including fully staffing the home. State, police and adult protection services are all involved as well. My mom is returning to the home tomorrow. I am taking Mondays off so that I may monitor my mom's care more closely while we are looking for a new assisted living home for her. I am very sorry about this change and am asking for your understanding. Thank you.
