This is a first. I have never been able to complete clearing trails in one day before let alone only 6 hours! This is only cause of the consistency and the dedication to all that help out. Tim, Ben, Gary, Jim and Sal along with anyone else who’s even picked up garbage and other debris, thank you 🙏 so much. I can focus on some other areas that desperately need attention like the trail out to the point and the hogsback.

New re-route away from the tracks

Alert 🚨 I finally got around to rerouting the trail that had you drop alongside the railroad tracks. It always seemed to be overgrown and lots of thorn bushes to scratch you up but not anymore. I blocked that section off and there is a new way down the hill this will be a lot safer.

Also, you’ll see an improvement on the trails behind the mirror lake pier where a steep downhill met up with mirror lake rd. Instead of a straight approach that could launch ya into the bush I put a bit of a turn at the end to bring you back onto the main trail a bit more smoothly and not so abrupt.

Things are really coming together now there are a couple more lines I’d like to clean up and there is one more area I would like to add to make a connection between a couple more sections of trail that could be really fun.

Trails inside the park are all cleared off minus the main trails such as the hogsback and mirror lake rd, but even covered they are still in pretty good shape. Sorry for all the noise out there today, but this may be the first time I have been able to clear all 4.5-6 miles in one day! Hard to believe I have been doing this for 15 years!

Thank you to whomever removed the downed tree on the mirror lake trail!!! Much appreciated! Lots of fall trailwork is set to startup soon.

Trails North of the main road had the overgrowth trimmed away. It’s much better now and I will get to the mirror lake side of the park soon!

Huge shoutout to Ben Michalski for helping me clear the trails for the season. They are very wet and still some icy spots throughout but the majority of the trails are very dry. Won’t be long till the gate is open for the season!

Lots of progress on the trail near the railroad tracks. A new connection to the lowest part of that trail that heads to the base of mirror lake road was added as the old one was destroyed by the storms last year, cut away the deadfall near the section that runs parallel to the tracks. I also discovered where the old shack was at the top of mirror lake.

Whelp finally got a chance to check out the trails after the last few storms and there are a ton of branches as well a trees down.

Areas to use caution on and could use some help cutting away the dead fall:

Trail from the hogsback to mirror lake as well as around the west end of mirror lake.

Trail that splits the park road.

North of mirror lake road along the railroad tracks

Lower trail heading towards the bridge that takes you out to the point.

Thank you to all who have worked on clearing the hogsback and mirror lake road trail.
