Okay y’all, we tried the new Bayside Provisions batter a couple nights ago, and it was actually pretty good!

I did not follow the instructions on the bag 🤣 I dipped the fillets in an egg wash, then into the dry batter before frying. Turned out VERY good!

We also tried the tartar sauce from the same brand. We tried it at room temp because, well… we’re impatient 😂 It was still really good! Maybe chilled next time will make it even better?

Next time maybe I’ll actually follow the recipe on the bag and see how it’s supposed to be eaten 🤣🤣

My go-to side for fried perch has always been mashed potatoes. Maybe that’s just because it was what I had the first time I made perch, but it’s stuck ever since.

So now I’m curious — what do y’all eat with your fried perch? 🎣🍽️

Coleslaw? Fries? Mac & cheese? Baked beans? Or is there something I’m missing?
