And some have a little more history behind them than others!

Take this impressive piece currently found in Booth KAT. It appears to be a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Masonic cap, identifiable by the double-headed eagle and red 32° triangle on the front.

But keep looking!

Reveal time!

This is an antique hornbook, one of the earliest tools used to teach children how to read.

A printed lesson — usually the alphabet, simple syllables, prayers, or short passages — was mounted to a small wooden paddle. On many examples, the paper was protected by a thin transparent sheet made from animal horn, which is how the hornbook got its name.

Children could hold the handle while practicing their letters and reading lessons.

Long before tablets, workbooks, or even modern schoolbooks, this little paddle helped generations of children take their first steps toward learning to read.

A very simple object with a surprisingly important place in the history of education.

⚡ WHAT DO THESE TWO THINGS HAVE IN COMMON? ⚡

On one side, we have THOR — GODDESS OF THUNDER looking very serious, very powerful, and quite possibly wondering who moved Mjölnir. 🔨⚡
You can find her hanging out in Booth GIL12.

And on the other side… a fabulous vintage Lazy Susan serving set in Booth TOM — calmly spinning snacks around the table without a single thunderbolt involved. 😄
