Many of you know Sarah, our incredible store manager, who has been such an important part of our family here at The Country Store and ProGear Outfitters. What many of you may also know is that her daughter-in-law, Olivia, is not only part of their beautiful family, but also one of our amazingly talented local vendors whose handmade items have been featured in our store. ❤️

Right now, Olivia and her family are facing an unimaginable journey, and a GoFundMe has been created to help support them while they focus on creating memories, finding moments of joy, and continuing to pray for a miracle.

During Covid in 2020, I went live for the VERY first time trying to help promote our little Alton Country Store… and let’s just say 😂 WOW. The awkwardness. The nerves. The camera angles. The absolute lack of knowing what I was doing.

And yes… I was absolutely wearing sweatpants. But honestly, during the first half of 2020, I think we were ALL rotating between sweatpants and pajamas every single day anyway 😂

Honestly? The video is terrible. Painfully terrible. 😂 But watching it back now is also a reminder of something really important… everyone starts somewhere.

That tiny little store in Alton was the beginning of a journey that eventually led us to being invited to Tanger Outlets later that same year. None of it happened overnight, and none of it happened alone.

A lot of hard work, incredible employees, amazing people helping along the way, and the unbelievable support from our customers and community helped us grow into something we never could have imagined back then. ❤️

So here’s your reminder not to quit just because the beginning feels awkward. Sometimes the cringiest first step turns into something really special.

And yes… I’ll survive the embarrassment of reposting this video eventually. Maybe. 😂
