Black Tourmaline(Schorl) on Quartz-
Sankhuwasabha District, Kosi Zone, Nepal.
7 cm tall X 4.5 cm wide
The Alpine minerals of Nepal and the Himalayas are well known as the source of some of the finest quartz specimens in the world, and this specimen is an example of why. What we have here are two pristine and parallel schorl crystals growing out of a glassy quartz crystal. Both the quartz and the tourmaline are perfectly terminated with no repairs.
