MCS series products...We have 2 in for repair...this 3275 is working again now. I waited to see if we could bring it back to life before making 2- "switch caps" that were missing when the unit arrived. I collect k***s and switch caps but did not have these...No problem...I just made 2 on my lathe...I have used that lathe for soooo many projects over the years....Cannot imagine my life and my little business without my lathe and bench top milling machine. The 2-switch caps I made are not exactly like the only remaining original one but as my British friends and I say they are "close enough for the girls we go out with".

Fender "Twin Amp"...power tubes get very hot when in 1/4 power setting of toggle switch...found 1/2 of the toggle switch has shorted contacts...(mark in red with a sharpie) probably welded from arcing ? Dead short when toggle is in either position...WOW. I dont recall ever having this happen before.

Wickham Audio. Pedals and microphones are not always worthy of repair but that does not mean we wont repair them. Testing the Shure SM57 after the cartridge/element was replaced confirming I wired the mic in phase...after completion of the MXR micro amp repair on the scope I then played guitar thru the pedal into an amp as a sanity check.....NEXT

Speaker repair/re-foam/re-cone/replace. These 2 are Cerwin-Vega 15 inch woofers from 1989..the one has a small hole and a damaged dust cap. Customer did not want to re-cone or replace the dust cap. I did pull the dust cap out some...Cerwin-Vega owners are very loyal.

I have repaired/serviced/set-up several/many of these Parker "Fly" models for various reasons...this one is a "Pre-Refined" (original/first generation). Not fun to work on. No schematics, only wiring diagrams that are artist's rendering and not thorough...not fun to work on... I have found these instruments to be mechanically stable (neck relief, string height, intonation, tuning). Electronics are more of an issue, specifically the "flex circuit" used in place of point to point wiring...the foil traces within the flex circuits break or crack....I have mended this one previously...this visit revealed one coil open on the bridge pick up. This pick up was designed by Parker and built by DiMarzio. DiMarzio said they could rewind it so I sent the pick up to them and then, they said they are not able to rewind it. Seriously ? Why not? They created it. Anyway they built a new pick up to original specs. It is installed and returned to working order.

Vintage Pioneer receivers....SX-535 lower end unit but customer bought it new back in the day. SX-1010 and SX1050 are flagship monsters...All 3 are here at the same time and in various stages of completion....every receiver receives the same Wickham Audio protocol... blow out barn dust, burnish and de-ox all jax and controls, set bias, set DC offset, replace all lights with LED's, peak tune FM section, verify stereo separation, performance bench test to assure unit meets original factory power spec's as well as THD...burn-in for hours and listen to repaired unit everyday thru out each day for a week. My long sleeve undergarment sleeves are so long it was caught by the dial pointer and broke off the dial pointer on the SX-535...erg...I was able epoxy it back on and change the lamp without breaking it again. Ha...Wickham Audio services all makes and models.

Wickham Audio (Pete Wickham/me) is a factory authorized service center for PreSonus and virtually everybody who is anybody in the Music Industry....it is rare that 2 of the same anything shows up at the same time. These both are the StudioLive 64S console's and are owned by 2 different customers. 1 of them is warranty and the other 1 is out of warranty. Happy New Year !
