Hello quilting friends!

In the past, I have organized trips to the Paducah Quilt Show and it has always been so much fun. Many that have gone have expressed interest in going back and have asked about having more time at the show. This year, I am planning a trip that will include two full days at the quilt show that will keep us from being so rushed. An extra day will allow more time for shopping, seeing the Quilt Museum and other shops in the area, and/or taking classes while you are there.

The cost is $485 and includes the bus, three nights in the hotel, which includes breakfast, and entry into the show both days. A $100 deposit will hold your seat on the bus. You can make payments as you wish, but the balance is due March 26, 2026. The deposit is nonrefundable, but transferable. Space is limited, so if you want to go, get your deposit to me soon! I have already had a lot of interest, so I feel like the trip will fill up quickly.

We will leave Thomaston on Thursday, April 23, make a pick up along the way in North Atlanta, and head to the show. We will spend all day Friday and Saturday at the show, and return on Sunday, April 26.

Dana will be hosting her annual bus trip to the Paducah Quilt show April 26-28. The cost of the trip is $295 and includes transportation, hotel, breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and entrance into the show. Deposits are being taken now with the balance due March 31.

If you have been on the trip, you know what a great time it is, and we hope you will join us this year. If you haven’t been, don’t miss out!!! Seats are filling up quickly!

Don’t forget....our Saturday Sampler begins this Saturday at 10:00 AM!!!! Bring your latest and greatest projects for Show and Tell and pick up your first block.

Saturday Sampler is a year long Block of the Month program. The cost of the program is $20 if you bring your completed block back to the shop on the first Saturday of each month.

Who will join us this year??? Our blocks will be made with neutral colored fabrics on a white background.

Are you excited???? Southern Stitches is nearly ready for its grand reopening!!! Come join us Saturday, January 12 for the big day. We will also begin our Saturday Sampler Block of the Month program that day. This year we will be using neutral colored fabrics to create our blocks. There is a $20 sign up fee to get your first block, and as long as you bring your finished block back on the first Saturday of each month, there are no additional charges!!!

Six years ago, I had a dream of opening a quilt shop....6 years. It doesn’t seem like that long ago. I guess the old saying is true, “Time flies when you are having fun.” And I have certainly had fun! 6 years... and today it ended (with more than a few tears!). I am no longer a quilt shop owner. Today, I officially sold my business.

You guys made my dream possible. You supported me, you laughed with me, you believed in me. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! From the bottom of my heart. I have had such a great time, made a lot of memories, and most of all created many beautiful friendships. Some of you have even become family to me, and been my “team” when I needed someone in my corner.

To say I am not a bit heartbroken would be a lie. I know I am beginning a new chapter in my life, but I am not so sure I was completely ready to end the last chapter. Please support Sadie as she jumps into her new chapter as well. She has a lot of great ideas and is excited to take over the quilt shop.

As a military wife, you would think I do well with goodbyes, but I don’t. So this isn’t goodbye, this is see you later.....

In April for our Paducah bus trip!!! Yes, I will be back, and yes, we are going!!!!

Thank you again. I have immensely enjoyed the last six years and I will miss you all terribly. And if you need a beach break, we have a spare room in Hawaii!!
