While searching for information, I stumbled on a newspaper editorial that reads as if it were written last week. But it actually appeared more than 186 years ago on June 16, 1833, in The Atlantic Journal back in what they called the "good old days!"

And it reads, “The world is too big for us. There is too much going on, too much crime, violence and change. Try as you will, you get behind in the race. It's an incessant strain to keep pace and still, you lose ground. Science empties its discoveries on you so fast that you stagger beneath them in hopeless bewilderment. Everything in business and life is high pressure. Human nature can't endure much more!"

Hmm!🤔
Really, the world has not actually changed for the better, instead from bad to worse. Will you not agree with the words of Jeremiah 10:23, that “It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step”? But satanic propaganda would want us to believe otherwise...that we are good.

It’s clear that no human or group can solve mankind’s problems. So do not put your trust in human capabilities and promises of making the world better.

Never mock a pain you haven't endured. Because when life hits you, you might become everything you have ever criticized.

Talking about mocking a pain you've not endured.

Many years ago, before I married, I had a business mentor, but he is late now; I will not use real names to avoid embarrassing anyone.

This my mentor, Francis, was a very good man, kind, and one of the most intelligent men I have met; Francis spoke and wrote multiple languages, including English, French, Italian, Spanish, Igbo, and Yoruba. He married a beautiful and much younger second wife, Amarachi; the first wife lived in Italy. It is safe to conclude that Francis loved the second wife very much because he relocated from Italy to Nigeria because of her.

However, one day, a big fight broke out between Francis and Amara, and in the process, an expensive dining table in their house was broken.

Francis had this friend, Chief Kenneth; two days after that fight, he visited Francis in his office, and I was there when he came; he wasted no time and went straight to the issue of the fight. He asked Francis in Igbo, “Nwoke m, ibu kwa nwoke? (My man, are you really a man?). He continued, “let me tell you, if my wife does something like that, “Ofu ife di iche na egbe na egbe.” In Igbo language, Gun and Hawk/Eagle bear the exact spelling but different pronouncements depending on the context. He went on to boast about what he would do to his wife if she attempted something like that.

Not long after, Chief Kenneth quarreled and fought with his wife too; we fondly called her Lolo because her husband was a Chief. Lolo picked up their television, video player, and landline telephone set and threw them down the stairs in anger.

We were expecting Chief to show his wife the difference between a gun and a hawk, but for two weeks, nothing happened. Francis used to be a dramatic person, and one evening, he asked me to join him to Chief’s house. When we got to Chief’s house, he had his leg on his wife’s lap while she trimmed his toenails. Can you imagine the likeness? 😂

Francis said: “Oga egbe na egbe, how far?” “We came for a condolence visit but since you didn't kill anyone; we are going home.

Again, never mock a pain you have not endured. I learned many lessons from these two people who married friends.
