Steal these tips to reach your hair goals…
1. If you have dry, coarse, or tightly curled /coiled hair NEVER. NEVER. EVER DETANGLE DRY HAIR! SERIOUSLY NEVER! You are literally ripping out your new growth. On Average You Shed About 50-100 Hairs A Day. The problem is SHEDDING Is Often Confused With BREAKAGE, BUT It is NOT THE SAME! 👇🏾
- ( 🥀 Breakage occurs when all OR part of the strand has been broken due to damage such as combing, rough handling, or chemicals . Shedding occurs naturally, and will have the "bulb" of the hair follicle at the end.
When detangling dry curly hair the accumulated shed hairs can becom in e tangled in your new growth and cause unnecessary breakage. You need a conditioning product to absorb into your hair shaft, making it easier to comb through any tangle in its way.
2. Contrary to popular belief, oil is NOT MOISTURE! Oil has no moisture in it. Hydration comes from moisture. From water. Water hydrates. Water moisturizes. I'm not saying oil is useless, not at all. Oil helps our hair and scalp hold onto water, slowing its all-too-eager evaporation from the epidermis and cuticle. Before you add any cream or oil your hair NEEDS to properly hydrated with water or a water based mist. This will allow your hair to absorb and accept the moisture more efficiently. Water + Oil = Hydrated Happy Hair 🦋
