And that’s a wrap for Godfrey Christmas Trees 2025! We reflected throughout the season of the years past and celebrated our 30th year of service to the community!

Thank you to all our customers! Thank you to our workers!

As you are celebrating the next two days remember.

The Christmas tree is a powerful symbol with several layered meanings 🎄:

1. Eternal life & hope
Because evergreen trees stay green all year, they’ve long symbolized eternity, renewal, and life that continues through winter.

2. Christian meaning
In Christianity, the tree represents everlasting life through Christ.
• The triangular shape points to the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).
• The star or angel on top symbolizes the Star of Bethlehem or the angel announcing Jesus’ birth.

3. Light in darkness
Tree lights symbolize light overcoming darkness, hope, and guidance during the darkest time of year.

4. Gifts beneath the tree
These reflect the gifts of the Magi and also the spirit of generosity, love, and sharing.

5. Pre-Christian roots
Before Christianity, evergreen trees were used in winter festivals to honor nature, fertility, and the return of the sun—a symbol of life surviving the cold.

Real Trees ! Traditionally the Gatliff family pick up their tree and greenery late Thanksgiving afternoon. We always know that we are nearing the end of the day when they come by…. At this point in the day we have time to chat a few minutes by the fire. Thanks Erin for sharing a picture with us! …. Your tree is always so pretty. I noticed first the star at the top …..

Do you know the story behind the “Moravian star”.

The Moravian Star is a multi-pointed, geometric Christmas decoration originating from a 19th-century German Moravian boys' school geometry lesson, symbolizing Jesus as the "light of the world," the star guiding the Magi, and God's divine light, traditionally featuring 26 points (17 squares, 8 triangles) but available in many variations, glowing from within as a beloved Advent and holiday symbol.

Guess how many lights ? This is our 11 ft tree in the living room of our home. I took a few minutes of each day to decorate before starting my work routine. When my children were young ….with all their church and school activities we only made it to getting the lights on the tree :):) I finished this morning. Now l can sit by the tree and fireplace and finish photo edits.
