Announcement!
As previously posted, we've had open submissions for a student to join us for this school year as a designer and performer. After some discussion, we would like to introduce Mr. Ryan Johnson.
Ryan is a recent graduate of Farmington Senior High School in Missouri, as well as received his AA in teaching from Mineral Area College this year. Being a younger percussionist, his goal and dream is working to build up and support the musical community in return for the love and encouragement he has received. This fall, he will be transferring to Southeast Missouri State University, in order to work on and complete his BA in Music Education.
As a HS student, his performance experience already includes: playing marimba as a part of the Farmington Black Knight Marching Band; percussion in the symphonic band; trombone as a member of the Pep band; playing piano in their jazz ensemble; and as a tenor in the chamber choir. In addition, Mr. Johnson has participated in a number of local and regional honors ensembles, studied at the Mineral Area Fine Arts Academy under the direction of Josh Politte, and performs as a member of the local community bands.
Ryan would like to thank everyone who is and has been a part of his musical journey - including Mr. Joe Strobl, Mr. Elliot Naes, Mrs. Claire Naes, Mrs. Mari Porter, Mr. Matt Kasper, Mrs. Nicolle Wise, Mr. Josh Politte - and most importantly, the man who "tricked" him into concert percussion, Mr. John Minnis.
We at Ingrained Instuments look forward to working with Ryan this year, and appreciate his dedication to becoming a better musician in all aspects. Thank you to everyone who submitted interest - we all anticipate this first experience being exceptional, and setting a standard for the future!
