Choppers for Children // As many of you know, the Sonshine Hacienda Orphanage holds a strong place in our hearts here at Biltwell. We are extremely grateful for Trent & the team for taking part in the final El Diablo Run and helping raise $9,000 for the orphanage. For details regarding their project, please read below:
For twenty years, Biltwell’s El Diablo Run has been one of the most iconic motorcycle gatherings in Baja California. It all started when Bill built a chopper and decided the best way to shake it down was by riding it to San Felipe. That spirit—build your own, ride your own—became the foundation of EDR.
I attended my first El Diablo Run in 2017. It gave me memories and friendships I’ll carry for the rest of my life.
Years ago I joked that it would be amazing to build a chopper at EDR just to remind people what this culture was built on.
Then Biltwell announced that 2026 would be the twentieth and final El Diablo Run.
It was now or never.
A group of us formed Choppers for Children. Our plan was simple: take a stock Harley-Davidson to San Felipe, transform it into a custom chopper in twenty-four hours, raffle it off, and donate every dollar to the Sonshine Orphanage.
We hauled an entire motorcycle shop across the border—welders, generators, torches, steel, frame jigs, toolboxes, paint supplies, and enough equipment to build a motorcycle from scratch on a beach.
For twenty-two and a half hours we worked nonstop under a palapa at Kiki’s. We cut the frame, fabricated parts, painted tins, welded late into the night, and turned a stock motorcycle into a running custom chopper.
Then we rode it to the El Diablo Run chopper show and held the raffle.
Not only did we finish the motorcycle, we raised $9,000 for the Sonshine Orphanage.
The greatest moment was riding it to the orphanage, taking the kids for rides, and handing over a check that will help support their future.
We built something with our hands.
We built it together.
And because of that, we were able to help others build a better future too.
The trip was a complete success. We learned together. We worked together. We grew together. -
