These 2 just arrived yesterday The old and modest but reliable L-6, but 2 versions here, the one with the Natural peghead has a bolt on neck and strings-thru-body and a Satin finish, t's an L-6 "Midnight Special" from 1974. The L-6S, with the Black peghead was built in 1978, and has a gloss finish and more sophisticated pickup selectability. The bodies, both solid Maple, differ in that the Midnight Special's comfort carved top is much more pronounced. The Midnight Special weighs 8.05 lbs and the L6-S is 8.18 lbs

Recovered! Thank you all for spreading the clip of the theft of the 2 mandolins. An hour ago the thief surreptitiously opened the front door and returned them in 2 shopping bags. I ran up to the door and saw him running down the street so summoning all my feet fleetness I took off after him. Not so smart, I lost him, called 911 and they are in pursuit. Your re-posts and pressure definitely made him realize the walls were closing in. Thank you all!!! I feel like i'm in a TV movie

This Gibson was owned by Scott Chinery and after Scott passed away another owned it until it landed here. It's a custom from about 1928, when there was slower time, time to paint this Venetian masterpiece

John Fahey (1939-2001) was a guitarist like no other. We, us oldies, grew up listening to the good ones- Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bo Diddley, the Drifters, Elvis pre-army and many more on our transistor radios, but soon the likes of Pat Boone took over the radio. But then Flatt and Scruggs, Dave Van Ronk, New Lost City Ramblers, Dylan, Koerner Ray & Glover, Muddy, Elmore James, Mimi and Richard, so many others that you could list gave us perfectly real music again. I'm leaving out too many great ones. But there was one person who just was so mind blowing and different, ethereal, earthy, rootsie, raga-ish, unpredictable, with emotions that captured the times and for me he just floated above the rest creating his own sound, John Fahey. SO this is the first of my Fahey posts, more pics & stuff to come. Looking for believers--

Joe visits Teaneck! We've stayed in touch over the years but the last time we saw each other in person was when Joe came into the Albany store when he was 12 with his Dad who asserted that one day
his son Joe would be a big star. Well, we've heard that before! But to heap more ridicule on myself- when son #1 and I saw Derek Jeter play in the Minors in Albany batting .241 I said "now there's one guy who'll never make it". So I'm batting 0 for 2. It was great to see you Joe and congrats on your career

Great to see my friend Buzzy today in Teaneck.

Bon Jovi's latest song debuted Aug. 29 on YouTube and filmed at three locations in Teaneck. The new song shows a love story between a young New Jersey couple as they navigate the boardwalk and summer days with a group of friends.
I'd forgotten but honored that they filmed parts of this little gem a couple months ago in the store

The group is seen "big timing in a small town" of Teaneck where they make stops at Teaneck Cinemas, Cedar Market and Lark Street Music, all located on Cedar Lane.
Have to say- it's a pretty cute video

This week, we lost a legend. And an ally.

Ozzy Osbourne was the godfather of heavy metal. He was a cultural force. And he used his voice to stand with the Jewish people, both publicly and personally.

From his iconic performances in Tel Aviv, to his visits to Yad Vashem and the Western Wall, Ozzy didn’t just play in Israel — he showed up for it.

His connection to the Jewish world was shaped in part by his wife and longtime manager, Sharon Osbourne, who never shied away from calling out antisemitism or defending artistic freedom.

After October 7, both Osbournes spoke out against antisemitism, with Ozzy himself signing Creative Community for Peace’s open letter earlier this year calling for an independent investigation into BBC bias.

At a time when many in the entertainment world stay quiet, Ozzy chose to stand up. We’re proud to have called him a supporter, and we send our love to Sharon and the Osbourne family.

CCFP's statement on his passing was featured in the Algemeiner.
“Throughout difficult times, the Osbourne family has stood proudly with the Jewish people and showed unwavering solidarity,” CCFP Executive Director Ari Ingel shared.

“Leave it to Ozzy to be present and take part in his own epic tribute concert just weeks ago. That’s a true legend.

Ozzy may be gone, but legends like him don’t die — they echo forever.

As we honor his extraordinary legacy, CCFP sends its deepest condolences to Sharon, their children, and all who loved him.

Our hearts are with the Osbourne family during this painful time.

May his memory be a blessing.”
