I love, love, love what I do! I’m so grateful for all the years I’ve done hair and still loving it. My clients are all so wonderful. They are much more than clients--I consider them my friends! Thank you so much for all your love and support. I got started in the hair business as a teen, if you can believe it! Here’s how it all came together...
Coming of age on the beaches of Southern California, Susan Potter had great hair! She was a hair show model at the age of 18 and fell in love with the passion the hairdressers had for their craft. That's when she realized she would love a career in the beauty industry. Helping women feel lovely about themselves gives her great satisfaction. "I am fortunate enough to be in an industry that I've enjoyed every moment of it. Passion, art, color chemistry, fashion, helping to build one's self esteem is so exciting. And, it happens every single day for the people who sit in my chair."
Since those early days in Southern California as a hair model, Susan has built nearly 40 years of experience as a stylist, salon owner and professional color educator. She owned and operated six salons in California before moving her family and opening a salon in New Mexico where she fell in love with the art and culture of the state. "I have been in New Mexico for 16 years now; my daughter, her husband and my grandkids live in Taos so I spend a lot of time here with them. I just love the music, arts and entertainment, and the community of Taos so much that I decided it was time to make it my home."
As a Paul Mitchell Color Educator, Susan spent many years sharing tips and tricks with stylists at seminars across the country. A highly skilled colorist, Susan was known for offering techniques, new ideas, fresh perspectives, and challenging concepts to her attendees. "The industry changes constantly and is always evolving. Stylists and colorists must continue to educate themselves and stay current with trends. This is a passion for me."
