Just a day at the petting zoo 🐐
Fresh air, animals, curiosity… sometimes that’s all kids need 😊🙌🏻

So much learning happening without it even feeling like it. New textures, new sounds, new experiences…
And a lot of empathy and confidence building too, since my 3yo nanny kid wasn’t sure about getting close to the face, she ended up feeding and brushing them 🤣😊🥰 so cute!!!

How do we deal with big feelings? And how do we teach little ones what they’re feeling?
We spend so much time teaching letters and numbers
but emotional skills matter just as much.

First… we don’t expect them to just “know” or to just stop.
They’re still learning, so we slow it down and we name it.

😖 “You’re feeling frustrated”
😭“You’re sad because that didn’t work”

We don’t rush to fix it
We stay with them
We give them simple ways to express it
words, faces, colors, little activities like this

It’s never about stopping the emotion, It’s about helping them understand what they’re feeling and eventually the self regulation comes along ✨❤️🧘🏻‍♀️

Plus it’s a good fine motor activity 🖍️😊
