1958 5c Jefferson Nickel Struck on Cuba 1 Centavo Planchet NGC AU58

NGC 1958 Jefferson nickel struck on a Cuba 1 centavo planchet. The off-metal is smaller than a normal nickel in size, and large portions of the outer design is missing. Also, the coin weighs half the normal weight at 2.5 grams.

The error occurred when a Cuba 1c was fed into a press striking nickels, and was struck, resulting in this off-metal.

AU58 with pleasing, lustrous surfaces. Eye-appeal of an MS64.

1896-S 50c Barber Half Struck 10% Off-Center PCGS AU Details

PCGS 1896-S Barber half dollar struck 10% off-center at 7 o'clock. The coin is a solid 10%, with a relatively large portion of planchet visible, and the dentils missing on the obverse and reverse. A scarce date/mint as well, particularly in AU.

The error occurred when the coin was struck with the planchet not properly positioned between the dies, resulting in an off-center strike.

An extremely rare series for major errors such as off-centers, and we estimate only around 8-10 Barber half off-centers are known. Of the known examples of Barber half off-centers, there are perhaps 3 or 4 that are around 5% off-center, and perhaps 3 that are further off-center than this coin. This is right in the middle in terms of how far off it is.

This is a previously unknown example to us, and likely was set aside very soon after being struck, since it is AU, with just light wear. Perhaps it was stuck in a counting machine, since there are a small scratch obverse, and some rim dings--all of which are old and toned over. The toning also indicate it was stuck in a drawer or somewhere for years before someone brought it to the coin market.

PCGS AU details scratched. The coin has sharp details, with only light wear. This coin spent very little time in circulation. There are some scratches on the obverse, and some rim dings, but all are heavily toned over. The coin has dark brown toning as well.

Mint Error Coin:

1968-D 50c Kennedy Half Struck 80% Off-Center on T-1 Quarter Blank NGC MS63

NGC 1968-D Kennedy half struck 80% off-center on clad quarter blank. The coin weighs 5.6 grams, is the metal and planchet size intended for a Washington quarter. The blank was fed into a Kennedy half dollar press and struck 80% off-center. Remarkably, the date and mintmark are clearly visible as well. It is uniface on the reverse, with no design present.

Very scarce as a Kennedy half on a quarter blank and also with the date and mintmark visible (most don't show the date.) A superb example!

1893 1c Indian Cent Rotated Double-Struck In-Collar PCGS AU53

PCGS 1893 Indian cent rotated double-struck in-collar, with the coin showing the obverse showing a major rotation between strikes. The 2nd "1893" date is visible between 10 and 11 o'clock on the obverse. A very scarce error type in this grade, as most examples are well worn. Probably, this is because the coin is the same size as a normal cent, and tended to circulate for a long time as a result (since no one would easily see the error.)

The error occurred when the coin was struck, failed to eject from the collar, but rotated between strikes, and was struck again.

AU53 with pleasing red/brown surfaces. A few minor marks obverse. Beautiful coin overall, and tough to find in this grade.

1999-P $1 SBA Dollar Triple-Struck, 2nd, 3rd 20% Off-Center PCGS MS65

PCGS 1999-P Susan B. Anthony dollar triple-struck, with the 2nd and 3rd strikes overlapping 20% off-center. Triple-struck SBA dollars are very scarce, with an estimated 4 or 5 known! Dramatic in appearance, with multiple images of the design visible on both sides of the coin. Adding to the coin's eye-appeal, it is struck on both sides of the coin for all the strikes.

The error occurred when the coin was struck, then not fully ejected from the striking chamber, and was struck again two more times, 20% off-center.

MS65 lustrous with white toning on portions of the coin. Bits of grease are struck into the coin on both sides, which is very common on errors like this.
