Wow… I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I became the owner of Tate & Tilly!
And can you believe Tate & Tilly has been a beloved gift shop in the Carrollwood community for nearly 16 years?
I had some very big shoes to fill following the wonderful previous owners, Tish and Linda. Over the past year, we’ve made a few changes, added some new ideas, and put our own spin on things while staying true to what makes Tate & Tilly so special. I hope we’ve served our customers well along the way.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support. Retail is hard work, and in today’s Amazon world, small businesses need loyal customers more than ever. Every time you choose to shop local instead of a big box store, you’re making a difference, and I am incredibly grateful.
To our amazing vendors and staff—thank you for being such an important part of Tate & Tilly and for representing our store so beautifully. I appreciate each and every one of you.
To the wonderful customers who have become friends—thank you for your encouragement, your loyalty, and your kindness. If there’s something you’d love to see in the store or a way we can serve you better, please let us know. We truly want to hear from you.
To my two sisters who have been constant cheerleaders, encouragers, and therapists. I Love and thank you!
And to my husband, family, and sweet grandchildren—thank you for supporting me as I took this leap of faith later in life. Hearing, “Grandma, did you have a good day?” and “How much money did you make today?” always makes me smile and warms my heart!
This past year has been filled with hard work, learning, blessings, and gratitude. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of this community and to carry on the Tate & Tilly legacy.
Thank you for an amazing first year. Here’s to many more!

P.S. For those who have always wondered…
Tate & Tilly was named by the original owner, Tisha. Tate was her brother’s nickname, and Tilly was the nickname of his beloved dog.
And if you’ve visited our shop, you’ve probably noticed a few lemons sprinkled throughout. 🍋
My very first gift shop was named after my parents’ last name, Lemons. It was called Lemon Tree Vintage Market and was located in Belleair Bluffs.
As I celebrate one year as the owner of Tate & Tilly, I can’t help but wish my parents were here to celebrate with me. My mom would be dusting shelves, tagging merchandise, and probably shaking her head at the price of things these days. 🤪 My dad would be greeting customers with that warm smile of his, making everyone who walked through the door feel welcome. He had a special gift for that.
Their hard work, kindness, and encouragement helped shape who I am, and a little piece of them lives on in every lemon you’ll find around the shop.
With gratitude,
Amy 💛🍋
