Wanted to share a few pics of a fun project I just completed. I've wanted to build one of these for a long time but I didn't know how much fun it would be using it. I think I have the knife/ax throwing bug now!! 😁😎

Wanted to share some of the progress on the Aframe I'm working on. Right now I'm working on a really fun hidden pocket door for the back wall that will eventually lead out to a rope bridge. We're hoping to expand this house into others down the road. It's nice to be creative again. :)

Happy Sunday evening!

I wanted to give you guys a detailed update on my attempt to copy the Carolina Coop with no plans.😬😁

Beginning of the roof has been installed. I still have some modifications to do.

Installed 1/4'' inch mesh in the soffit above where the nesting box will go.

I've done some internal work in the top. I wanted some storage space so I installed a shelf above the run adding doors to close in the roost area. Not sure how practical that'll be but I'm door happy in this project so why not. 🤣 I was really happy the doors would extend completely without hitting the metal roof.

Jess read a blog saying using rubberized roofing to line the roost/perch area worked great so I'm going to try that.

Need to add some windows/ventilation.

I will be adding a drip edge all around the roof, adding gutters on the ends to catch rain water and a filter/collection system of some sort.

I will be concrete sinking 8ft 4x4's on the run ends to give it more stability so I need to figure out how to incorporate that with the metal roof. 👍💪
Somewhere in here I need to create the nesting boxes and egg collection system.
I'm also thinking about some kind of gable decoration. Not a lot of room to work that in up there but I'm looking forward to figuring something out.

In the end I will be painting it all white with black trim to match the house.
Lastly I plan to attach a mesh skirt on the outside edges and burying it.

Maybe I'll do a video of all the nooks and crannies of the build.

Thanks so much for following my page. More updates soon.
