Very excited to launch our refill program with our lovely neighbors and friends at Plunge+Restore - we have a ways to go before we lock it all in, but we are well on our way to making this refill thing happen!!! 🎉🎉🎉

We are working hard to get the right type and amount of products in the shop, but we are ready to start refilling!

Big card news: we're scaling way back on our card selection at the new shop.

Why? Lauda is literally next door and has ALL the good cards. (Also the cutest stationery shop that has ever existed - go, immediately!!!)

Which means you get a FUN clearance on almost 100 cards (seriously, that is too many cards for one store to have, haha). Every card in this clearance is $2 each, in store and online, while they last. Birthday, sympathy, wedding, congrats, and a healthy amount of unhinged. 🤣 Time to stock up on your card stash!!! Discount applied in cart.

I have written this a bunch of times and deleted it a bunch of times, because asking for help is not something I do very well (my husband and friends will attest!).

This past year has been a lot for our family and for our business. Many of you know what we went through as a family last spring. Then the sewage incident caused by our landlord's employees at the old shop cost us thousands in product, weeks of being closed with no income coming in, tens of thousands in legal fees, and eventually the lease and the place itself.

And then, we had a break-in at the shop a few weeks ago before we opened and it really set us back in so many ways. Products were stolen, all of our technology was taken, and our back door was broken down. And while we are still trying to tally up what we lost, we know that it was significant.

We rebuilt anyway, because we really want to be here and believe in this place. Hive has never been about making a lot of money for our family. We wanted something sustainable for us that also gave Tacoma a place worth walking into and being inspired by. Adding the Refillery has been a real joy and a bit of a passion project, because we know it can make a difference. Being open again is a wonderful feeling, but we are further behind financially than re-opening alone can fix.

So I find myself asking now. We have a GoFundMe set up to try and help some. And because I know not everyone can give freely, we also have some "fundraiser" items in the shop, priced a bit higher to create a little more margin to help, which can be used as great gifts for yourself or someone else!

We cannot wait to roll out the refillery in the next week! We actually had our first refillery customer on Sunday and pretty much messed it up, but I mean…you live and you learn, haha!

Wow, what a day! We had an amazing re-opening on South 11th and it was so fun seeing all of you that stopped by! Wanna do it again tomorrow?! 🤣

Happy to have a landing place once again and absolutely could not have done it without the help of all of my people. ❤️❤️❤️

We still have more to do to make it 💯, which just means you have more to look forward to in the days ahead!

And we can’t wait to roll out the Refillery and brand new subscription service fo body and household goods. 😍😍😍

Our grand opening next weekend just got an update with a featured drink from Civic Roasters - and wow, is it delicious!!!

Meet THE HIVE: an iced honey masala chai with cold foam and cinnamon, made by our friends at Civic Roasters just a few doors down. It is bonkers good…Benita apparently knows me very well at this point. 🤣

It will be available Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16, so grab one before or after you stop in for our grand opening. And while you are there, check out all the other goodies they have too. We have lived off of their yummy treats for the past few months during the renovations!

We are so thankful to have such great neighbors and partners on this block.
