Pride was originally inspired by the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. Since the first anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, LGBTQ+ people and allies have gathered to commemorate what happened in 1969. They celebrate LGBTQ+ people’s contributions to society and gains in human rights, advance activism and advocacy, and remember those who have died of HIV/AIDS and as victims of hate crimes.🙏🏾🕊️
