Check out this awesome view from Syracuse Lake in Indiana Sunday morning! It was cold enough to see ice pillars from the street lights! 📸 Beckie Moore
They look like several spotlights coming from the ground, but it is actually just an illusion on the eyes. What you need to have light pillars form is frigid temperatures, ice crystals (a little light snow falling) in the sky, and lower wind speed. The light at the ground then bounces off the tinny ice crystals like a mirror in a vertical direction producing light pillars!

The can of cranberries! Yes!! This is the only right way to do cranberries. I have a photo of my parents' first Thanksgiving meal together...and there it was, the same as at every Thanksgiving for our entire childhood...

The Bookstore is CLOSED for Thanksgiving so that I can spend a quiet day at home with my family...and by "quiet" I mean yelling at the receivers and running backs to RUUUUUUN and then screaming "Touchdown! Woohoo!!"

The wind is FIERCE today. I opened the door to the post office, and the wind tried to slam it against the outside wall. Yikes!! Watch out for fallen branches in the road.

For those who prefer to buy books online (or live far away from the store) but also want to support a very small business, you can buy through bookshop.org and CedarStone will receive part of the sale. Not as much as if you bought it here, but every little bit helps to pay the rent. And you won’t have to use amazon anymore! https://bookshop.org/shop/cedarstone (Using this link guarantees that CedarStone gets credit for anything you buy.) Bookshop orders the books directly from the distributor, so they will have just about any children’s or adult book you would want. Coming into the store is still the best way to make sure you are buying what you expect, though. Nothing can replace having it in your hands to make sure it’s exactly what you need!
For those who are coming into the store, here is a description of some things you’ll find. On the Non-Readers side of the room:
