We love serving our community!

Many have asked how the Compass Thrift Store works.

Step 1: Folks clean out their closets
Step 2: Folks drop off donations during volunteer hours at the store
Step 3: Volunteers sort through donations
Step 4: More volunteers hang up clothing and price all. the. things.
Step 5: Even more volunteers put items out in the store and make them available for purchase
Step 6: Shoppers come treasure hunting looking for a new pair of jeans for their kids that all of a sudden jumped 2 sizes or looking for just the right knickknack for their shelf.
Step 7: Proceeds help support the COMPASSion Minsistry that provides financial assistance and resources to Wawasee area families.

Part of our mission is providing essential items to our community at incredibly affordable prices. Most adult clothing is priced at $2 or less, and children's clothing is just $1 or less.

Did you know Compass is more than a thrift store?

Compass is a ministry of the Syracuse-Wawasee Ministerial Association. Each month, this group of local pastors gather to discuss ways to best serve our Wawasee community. Through this partnership, Compass coordinates and hosts a variety of outreach efforts throughout the year, including community holiday services, Wawasee Boat-In Services, worship services at The Waters Nursing Home, and the Compassion Ministry programs.

Together we are committed to meeting practical needs while sharing the hope and encouragement throughout the Wawasee Community!
