We're packing those sweaters away and ready for some sunshine, baby 😎
Our beautiful community member and Edna's supporter, Abby (who you may recognize from ***r Elevation ), brought her beautiful self out to model some of our latest picks! This was such a good time and it is always such a beautiful experience getting to watch someone find affirming clothes that they are 👏feel👏ing👏 them👏selves in!
Some folks are confused by what we mean when we say that we are a size-inclusive and gender-inclusive thrift experience so let us break it down for you:
✨ Gender expression doesn't look the same for everyone. So shopping at stores designated for men or women can mean limited options, especially for non-binary folks.
✨ Our trans community members experience the extra hurdle of finding clothes that are in their size and accommodate a variety of frames and shapes.
✨ For folks who are new on their gender or transition journey, learning to shop for your body type can be an intimidating experience and can lead to some real feelings of frustration and discomfort. 😕
That's why Edna's Closet is an open space where clothes are only separated by article type, not "gender", with resources and staff for supporting our gender-expansive community in finding clothes that work for them.
👉We're working to increase the kinds of offerings we provide in this space so y'all stay tuned! 👈
Oh, and don't forget all the proceeds from our closet go to supporting .roses
We'll be formally announcing our May dates soon, but if you are a big enough supporter to have read this caption this far, we'll let you know they're May 18/19 & May 25/26 😎
