Who are the people behind the curtain of Sylva Piano Repair?
Well, it is me, Courtney Umphlett(I don't know why I use we all the time in my posts....it is habit I guess haha!)
I am currently in a year long program to learn all about piano tuning and repair. I have completed the tuning component and am working towards the repair section(half way through!)
I got into piano repair because pianos fascinate me! I have played piano for 25 years(!!!) and have taught piano lessons for 10 years through my studio, Wonderworks Music Studio. After having a 110 year piano moved for me and talking with the piano technicians who moved it, I made the decision to start studying. And it has been such fulfilling work!
I am married to my wonderful husband Drew who is a fabulous handyman! We have been married for 11.5 years and we have a daughter named Cc who just turned 5. She also dabbles in the piano but really loves art.
When I am not teaching or tuning pianos, I am walking/hiking, enjoying good coffee, painting, reading, or baking.
