Baby Chef Rachel .
Here I am at around the age of 9 making chocolate covered matzah with a family friend who was giving my culinary lessons at the time with Chef Chris Fitz Devillier in preparation for the passover seder.
I was recently passed this wonderful photo and I thought I’d share a little about my culinary journey with y’all:
From a young age, my life has been centralized around food, especially sweets. I can still remember taking out cookbooks at during the library hour in kindergarten , dressing up in a full chef hat and chef coat for purim & halloween, and religiously watching the Food Network Channel after school.
I was inspired how much food could spark joy. Sharing a bite with someone, especially with a little something sweet, brings togetherness. For me, sharing food is as important as breathing. I’ve found my creative passion that I’ve turned into my career.
The future of Levantine Chocolate is a dream to open is a chocolate shop that paves a wider path for women in the food industry, food represents inclusiveness, and up-cycled packaging to minimize packaging waste.
In a world with terror, chaos, wars, terrible political corruption and madness… there is chocolate. You can have absolutely nothing in common with someone, but with one small piece of chocolate, you can find a smile. Chocolate is the language of love, and peace that everyone can speak.
Let’s add more light into the world. Stand up for what’s right. Speak up for what’s right. And eat more chocolate.
