Most people never see where their food comes from.

They never meet the family.
Never walk the woods.
Never see the work.

We believe that matters.

Because trust isn’t built with labels.
It’s built with transparency.

We're usually talking maple, but today we're talking about Vermont.

Not the Vermont of yesterday—the Vermont we're building for tomorrow.

In this clip from Morgan Gold's Act 181 documentary, Kurt shares his perspective as a fourth-generation maple producer and small business owner. Because this isn't just about policy. It's about whether future generations will have the same opportunities to live, work, build a business, own a home, and raise a family in the state we love.

Since this interview was filmed, lawmakers have already begun revisiting portions of Act 181, rolling back or delaying some of the most controversial provisions after hearing concerns from rural landowners, farmers, and small business owners across the state. But the larger conversation remains: How do we protect Vermont's farms, forests, and natural beauty while also ensuring that working families, young people, and local businesses can build a future here?

We all want to protect what makes Vermont special. The challenge is making sure Vermont remains a place where our children and grandchildren can afford to stay, put down roots, and carry on the traditions that make this state home.

Take a listen and join the conversation. 🍁

We don’t have a marketing department.

We have a sugarhouse.

A husband and wife.

Four little boys.

A whole lot of maple trees.

When you place an order from us, you’re supporting baseball games, fishing trips, garden seeds, animal feed, school clothes, and the never-ending grocery bill that comes with raising four growing boys.

You’re helping us preserve a way of life that seems to be disappearing a little more every year.

We’re just a family in Vermont working hard, raising our boys, and making maple syrup the same way we’ve always believed it should be made.

Thank you for being here. It means more than you know.

Well... today’s maple candy adventure proved that making candy solo is a little more of a juggling act than I expected! 🍁😂

Let’s just say there may have been a few sticky situations, a little extra cleanup, and some moments where I questioned my life choices. But every batch teaches us something new, and we’re getting one step closer to the maple candy products we feel truly confident putting our name on.

The good news? Even my “happy accidents” are still made from 100% pure Vermont maple syrup and taste absolutely delicious. They just might not be picture-perfect yet!

As we continue learning and refining our process (it’s been over 7 years since we’ve made maple candy!), we’re offering special discounted pricing on our candy line. It helps us avoid waste while giving you a chance to enjoy some sweet maple goodness at a great price.

If you’d like to support our candy-making journey, our maple candy “seconds” and test batches are available now on our website.

Thank you for your patience, encouragement, and for cheering us on through the messy middle. We promise the best is yet to come! 🍁❤️

P.S. If anyone needs me, I’ll be scraping maple candy off things that definitely weren’t supposed to have maple candy on them. 😆

🍁 Introducing Our First-Ever Maple Candy Test Batches! 🍁

The candy machine has officially been running, and we’re having a blast experimenting with molds, techniques, and designs as we build what will eventually become our permanent Pure Gold Sugaring maple candy lineup!

Right now, we’re testing different shapes and styles to see what works best for production, packaging, and of course... what our customers love most. Some molds may become permanent favorites, while others may be retired as we continue refining our collection.

Because these candies are part of our testing and development process, we’re offering special introductory pricing:

🍁 ½ lb Variety Pack — $20
🍁 Large Vermont Maple Leaf — $2.75 each
🍁 Four Small Maple Leaves — $2.75

Available now on our website while supplies last!

A quick note about these candies: They are made from the same high-quality, 100% Pure Vermont maple syrup you expect from us. However, because we’re still perfecting our process, some pieces may have small cosmetic imperfections such as slight color variations, minor surface marks, or details that aren’t quite as crisp as we’d like.

In the maple industry, these are often referred to as “seconds”—products that don’t quite meet our appearance standards but are still completely delicious and made with the same care and quality ingredients. Think of them as the taste test winners that just happen to be wearing their work clothes!

We’re excited to bring you along on this journey as we learn, experiment, and grow our maple candy line. Your feedback will help shape the future of these products, so be sure to let us know your favorites!

🍁 Sweet. Simple. Pure Maple.

Long nights.
Hard work.
Family.
Steam rolling out the doors.
Generations learning the trade.
And someday… I want to bring it back to life as a place people can visit, learn, ask questions, and experience real Vermont maple history firsthand.
A little maple museum. A little educational space. A place to preserve the story behind the syrup.
Every video, every share, every follow, every bit of support helps us get one step closer to making that dream happen. ❤️

Lately life around the sugarhouse has been a little bit of everything. 🍁⚾️🚜

Baseball season is in full swing for our oldest, the younger boys are soaking up every chance they get to ride on the excavator, the calves are well fed thanks to their “helpers,” and we’ve been busy getting the garden planted for summer.

Somewhere in between all of that, we’ve also been working on big dreams — including submitting a grant application to help launch our maple candy line and continuing to plan for the future of opening the sugarhouse year-round for visitors to stop in, learn, ask questions, sample products, and spend some time here in the Northeast Kingdom.

It’s loud, messy, busy, chaotic… and honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way. ❤️

We’ll be sharing more soon in our newest blog on the website. We’ll share little snippets here on social media, but the full story and behind-the-scenes updates will be on the website for anyone who wants to follow along with our journey.

Because maple syrup should have a story. 🍁

Passed down, not watered down.
The same pure maple sugar—handed from one generation to the next, made the same way it always has been. No fillers. No shortcuts. Just maple.
If you’ve been looking for a cleaner, better way to sweeten your table… this is it.

Just like that… our season comes to a close.
It wasn’t an easy one—plenty of obstacles thrown our way—but nothing we couldn’t push through.
We set out with a goal of 5,000 gallons… and finished at 4,020.
And I can tell you this—we earned every single ounce.
But here’s the thing… this isn’t the end. It’s just the beginning.
The off-season doesn’t slow us down—it’s where the next chapter gets built. We’ve got a lot coming, and you’re going to want to stick around for it.
Grateful for the hard days, the long nights, and everyone who followed along with us. This season had a story… and we’re proud of how it was written.
