2017 monsoon snapped my Pachycereus weberi at the base. Most people would’ve pulled it. I salvaged every arm. It eventually grew back. Neobuxbaumia tetetzo, agave salmiana green goblet, Totem Poles, Cereus species and Ferrari cactus in the foreground.

Two jobs. One dream. Toby didn’t care either way — he just wanted the quad. Circa 2018, lanterns lit, sun not up yet, one to three hours of nursery work done before I ever walked into a corporate 9-5. This is the unglamorous part of building something from nothing. Insurance paid the bills. The nursery fed the soul.
