Surf & Bay Rig Co. customer Jock Agnello with a super nice Striper caught and released on LBI this weekend on Bunker chunk.

There is a steady Southeast wind blowing right now. We have Bunker and Green Crabs and lots of frozen bait.

Yesterday, we filleted a good number of Blackfish for folks coming back who reported super good fishing yesterday.

Beach reports were a bit on the slow side yesterday but a few folks caught Striped Bass on Tsunami Sand Eels, Ava Jigs, SP Minnows and cut bunker chunks for bait.

The photo shows fellow Long Beach Island Fishing Club member Jock Agnello with a very nice Striped Bass he caught and released on the island in the wee hours of Saturday morning on Bunker chunks.

Blackfish season here in New Jersey starts up again in 2 weeks. We are busy getting a good supply of rigs to have on hand for Surf City Bait and Tackle in 2/0, 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0.

FLUKE SESH this Saturday…

We’ll meet on the beach, down by the waterline. Location is 24th St., Surf City. Fishing begins at 5am and ends at 9. Largest fluke wins an awesome prize. Know a lot? Know too little? This is a fun and engaging way to gain knowledge and build confidence. Donations to benefit the Surf City Volunteer Fire Co and EMS. Come ready to fish and have fun.

Kingfish are just starting to make a showing in the Long Beach Island surf. Hopefully, they will come in nice numbers and stay a while. We have plenty of nice Kingfish rigs in stock only at Surf City Bait and Tackle with standard floats, beads and Sandflea floats.
