Muzzy Bowfishing Announces Cancellation of 27th Annual Muzzy Classic Tournament.
Muzzy Bowfishing®, an industry leader in high-quality bowfishing bows, reels, and accessories, regrets to announce the cancellation of the 27th Annual Muzzy Classic Bowfishing Tournament, originally scheduled for June 6–7, 2026.
Due to ongoing scheduling conflicts, the evolving landscape of bowfishing regulations surrounding native species, and potential changes in tournament liability in Alabama, the difficult decision has been made to not move forward with this year’s event.
For decades, the Muzzy Classic has stood as one of the premier tournaments in the sport of bowfishing—widely recognized as one of the most challenging and prestigious events to win. Its storied history has produced numerous champions, many of whom have been inducted into the Bowfishing Association of America (BAA) Hall of Fame, with many more likely to earn that distinction in the future.
In lieu of hosting this iconic event, Muzzy Bowfishing will redirect its resources toward initiatives aimed at strengthening and protecting the sport. These efforts will include increased focus on youth engagement, education, and strategic partnerships with other events and organizations to support the broader bowfishing community and its tournaments.
