Please join us for this year's 14th Annual Prickly Pear Festival in Superior AZ.
Auge 22nd - 24th.

We are not just about Prickly Pears; Every year we do our best to bring Food Education, Plant Medicine, Sustainability, Permaculture, Regenerative Design, Homeopathics, and Activism to the forefront of this event.

Our goal is to make this event a hub for like-minded individuals, groups, and organizations to come together and build networks, collaboration, and partnerships.
Not just in the region but eventually, globally!

Each year I listen to the attendees and participants as to what they want to see and do more of.
And each year it's about more demos, more interaction, more indigenous food, more pre-colonization cuisine, and more gathering of food knowledge and connections.
This is what we aim for, and this is why our theme for this year is "Going back to the Roots"
So, we would like to highlight and show respect for the natural foundation of the incredible edible desert.
This message is for everyone and it's all inclusive, regardless of age, race, religion, or political views.

Our Open Invitation Event starts on Friday, Aug 22nd at 4:30 pm at the Town Hall auditorium 199 Lobb Ave. With the partnership of Local 1st AZ. Good Food Finder. Saturday morning begins at 7:00am at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum at their Agroforest portion. A tour of the Heartland Trial offers visitors an immersive look into desert-adapted agroforestry in action. Guests will walk through layered planting zones featuring mesquites, saguaro, agave, prickly pear, and other culturally significant species, while learning about passive water harvesting techniques, soil restoration and carbon sequestration, and fire suppression techniques being used on the site. The tour also highlights the blending of science and traditional knowledge, offering insight into how this project serves as both a conservation effort and a vision for community-based sustainability in the Sonoran Desert. 1st Tour at 7:00 am – 8:00am 2nd Tour is 8:00 am – 9:00am Free admission but Arboretum entry fee if you are non BTA members.
