Now is the time to sign up for our fall knitting and needlepoint classes! We still have spots available most days and welcome stitchers of all skill levels. Needlepoint classes are offered on Mondays, with knitting classes Tuesday through Saturday, including daytime, evening, and weekend options.

Fall is the perfect time to learn something new or build your skills. With kids back in school and cooler days ahead, there’s nothing better than spending time stitching with a fun, creative community.

Our Friday Finishers are wrapping up summer projects and getting a head start on cozy fall knits!

Lisa made the Lakes Cardigan by Ozetta: Hailey Smedley using Noro Akari Solo held together with Alpaca Haze—a beautiful combination for this relaxed, oversized cardigan. 

Wendy finished the Sabai Top No. 1 by Susanne Müller using Mode at Rowan’s  Cotton DK held together with Make It Tweed, creating a fabulous fabric for this top-down tank. 

Claudia knit the Koi Scarf, designed by our Alex, in Simpliworsted as a gift for a friend—and the smile says it all!

It’s that time of year when kids are heading off to college. They pack their bags, say goodbye to Mom and, of course, bring along their emotional support chicken—a little handmade hug from home. 🐔❤️

Some of you may remember Sarah, who used to work at W&G and is an incredibly talented teacher and designer. Her oldest son is a college freshman this year, and she decided he—and 20 of his friends—needed a little extra comfort from home. Yes, Sarah made over 20 emotional support chickens designed by Annette Corsino!

We can’t get over this adorable flock, each one made with lots of love and sure to bring plenty of smiles. And after knitting lots of chickens, Sarah says she can’t wait to start a sweater. We certainly don’t blame her!

Good luck to all the kids starting school this fall whether you are a freshman in college or a kindergartener. The Knitting Tree L.A.

For the first time ever, we’re selling a selection of our shop samples! If you’ve had your eye on a favorite piece in the store, now is your chance to take it home at a fabulous price.

Sweaters are just $30, blankets $20, shawls $15, cowls $10, baby sweaters $10, scarves $10, and hats only $5. We also have a selection of needlepoint canvases on sale, so there are even more treasures to discover.

All sample sales are final, cash only, and available in-store only. Quantities are very limited, so stop by and find that Wool & Grace sample you’ve always loved!

Monday is Needlepoint Day at Wool & Grace! 🪡

Just a reminder that our Monday Needlepoint Drop-In continues through August from 12–1:30 pm for $25. And if you’re ready to keep stitching into fall, our fall needlepoint class schedule is now online and registration is open!

Laurie recently stopped by to pick up two beautifully finished travel round ornaments, and we just had to share them. She stitched New Zealand and Antarctica, and they look fabulous! What a wonderful way to turn special travels into treasured keepsakes. Great job, Laurie!

Where has your stitching taken you this summer? Our Wool & Grace community has been stitching everywhere—from Pawleys Island to Green Valley Farmers Market & Creamery, Tanglewood, Crestview Pool Club, Rhode Island, and Great Exuma! No matter where summer takes you, we love seeing your projects come along for the adventure.

Have you ever had a project that just sat…and sat…and sat? For Alex, it was the Six Year Shawl.

She started Stephen West’s Slipstravaganza during COVID and made great progress before losing steam and putting it away. When she finally picked it back up, she made a mistake near the end—when there were more than 900 stitches in a row! The thought of ripping it back was just too much, so her dear friend Carrie came to the rescue and took out the row for her.

And then…it sat some more.

After years of talking about finishing this shawl, Alex decided this summer was finally the time. And look at it now—pretty spectacular and definitely worth the wait!

So, consider this your inspiration to pull out that knitting or needlepoint project that’s been hiding away. Sometimes all it needs is a little attention—and a second chance—to become something wonderful. Stephen West

This week’s Friday Finishers are all about adorable baby sweaters!

First up is Kathleen, who knit the sweetest Fishy Sweater Kids by HipKnitShop using Blue Sky Fiber’s Extra. Worked from the bottom up and available in six sizes, Kathleen made hers a little larger so there’s plenty of room to grow. We especially love the one orange fish—and she even made matching hats! Such a special handmade gift.

Next is our teacher Susan, who made the Top Down Roll Raglan by Melinda Goodfellow. This classic, seamless pullover is worked from the neck down with simple rolled edges. Although the pattern calls for worsted-weight yarn, Susan used Isager Eco Baby, a sport-weight yarn, and it worked beautifully.

Lastly, our teacher Ellen knit the Ingrid Sweater Baby by PetiteKnit for one of her grandsons using Knitting for Olive’s Merino. This sweet pullover is worked from the top down and features a beautiful knit-and-purl texture. Available in four sizes, it’s a timeless sweater for a special little one.
