Y’all I know this isn’t a curious event… but isn’t it though?! 😜 We have been all watching and looking out for Zeus. Look what this community did! Zeus is home! And , we are so proud to be a part of it! Great job everyone! 🐕🦺🐾❤️
❤️🐾 ZEUS IS HOMEWARD BOUND!!! AFTER 38 DAYS!!! 🐾❤️
I've been down with the flu for the past several days, so I'm a little late sharing this incredible news. But this is one update I've been waiting a LONG time to make!
38 DAYS MISSING.
38 days since Zeus disappeared following a terrible vehicle accident on I-55 near Summit, Mississippi.
38 days of searching, praying, following leads, flying thermal drones, distributing flyers, and hoping for that ONE sighting that would finally bring him home.
🙏 AFTER 38 DAYS... ZEUS HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS SAFE!!!
❤️ AND THE BEST NEWS OF ALL — ZEUS AND HIS DAD ARE REUNITED!!!
Charles Shackelford made the drive from South Carolina to Nunnery Veterinary Hospital in Summit, Mississippi, where he and Zeus were finally reunited!
And as I write this, CHARLES AND ZEUS ARE ON THEIR WAY HOME TO SOUTH CAROLINA!!!
After everything this family has endured, I couldn't be happier for Charles, Shari, and their family. This is the reunion we've ALL been praying for!

To Holly Lynn McCaa of Summit and her neighbor Breanna — THANK YOU for diligently monitoring your security cameras, capturing sightings of Zeus, and contacting the search teams. Those sightings provided the information needed to help bring this search to a successful conclusion!

🐾 THIS IS WHY TEAMWORK MATTERS!
Throughout this search, I spent many nights flying thermal drones over Summit and McComb, checking wooded areas, neighborhoods, and possible sightings.
We located other dogs that looked remarkably similar to Zeus. There were moments when I truly thought we had found him, only to discover a physical characteristic that ruled him out.
Each time, we took a deep breath and continued searching.
I've always said that finding a lost pet is often like putting together a puzzle.
Every sighting, every flyer, every phone call, every camera image, and every person willing to help can provide another piece of that puzzle.
Sometimes, all it takes is ONE missing piece to bring a beloved pet home.
BUT IN ZEUS'S CASE...
❤️🐾 IT TOOK AN ENTIRE VILLAGE TO PUT THE PUZZLE TOGETHER AND BRING HIM HOME!!!
From neighbors watching security cameras to volunteers searching at all hours, experienced trappers, people distributing flyers, and everyone sharing his story — each person contributed something important.
No single person could have accomplished this alone.
And THAT is what makes Zeus's story so special!
📄 FLYERS ARE WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD!
I've said it countless times, and I'll keep saying it. Thermal drones are incredible tools for locating missing animals, but they're only one piece of the recovery process.
Sometimes the most important lead comes from a neighbor checking a camera, someone recognizing a dog from a flyer, or a stranger taking a few minutes to make a phone call.
Never underestimate the difference YOU can make in helping a lost pet find its way home!
❤️ To Charles and Shari — I couldn't be happier for you both. I know these past 38 days have been incredibly difficult, especially while recovering from your injuries.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of the effort to find your boy. Knowing that Zeus is finally safe and reunited with Charles is something I'll never forget.
Most importantly, I thank God for watching over Zeus during these 38 days and for bringing together so many caring people to help him find his way home.
What started with a terrible accident and a missing dog became a story of compassion, determination, faith, and an entire community of strangers working together for one purpose.
BRING ZEUS HOME!
And after 38 long days, that mission has finally been accomplished!
