Good morning friends, it's been awhile since I've posted on this page, spring is almost here and we have been busy picking up new trees and plants, checking on last year's trees and preparing for this year. So far we have pinenut strawberry plants, red strawberry plants, thornless blackberry, patio peach trees, cherry trees, Rising sun redbud, Autumn blaze redbud, Weeping Cherry several different kinds of fig trees, snowball bushes. I have potted tulip bulbs and Allium bulbs that are coming up. I'm looking into getting some shrubs, roses and lemon trees. We will be in and out doing things at The RH so if you see us stop in we always appreciate visitors. Thank yall so much for patronage and patience.

Toys for Tots boxes will be going into businesses in the near future. I'm considering putting one at the Rusty Hoe for locals to drop off toys so if yall will join me in collecting toys for this worthy cause, Toys for Tots and the RH would appreciate yalls donations. I'll post something later as soon as I know something.

Since it's so hot we are open but we are doing matinance at the building and repotting trees that have outgrown their pots. You can still stop by we always like showing the plants and the inside tho it's still a working progress kinda thing. Next month is a good time to start a fall planting of trees and shrubs but remember they still require watering every day until it starts to get cold. Come see us we enjoy seeing the locals and out of towners.

Just to let everyone know and please share this if you will, we will not be keeping normal business hours. We will be in and out, watering, cleaning up, potting plants but not all day some days. If we are not there and you'd like to look at trees, this fon number is on the sign at the door, please call us, we will gladly come there. We have people do that now. We will be there on Saturdays clearing trees out, cleaning and repotting trees.

Is anyone interested in yard mint? We have an abundance of it in our yard. It's a dollar a plant. I have 3 kinds, spearmint, peppermint and chocolate, they are mixed together and sometimes I manage to pick all three.

I wanted to give everyone that follows this page a heads-up as to why we've not been at the shop since last week. I wound up in the emergency room Wednesday around noon for high blood pressure. I had had heat exhaustion the Friday and Saturday before from over working and not drinking enough fluids, I believe this was partly the reason my bp went sky high the following week. It was something I thought I never had, checked every time I went to the Dr. By the time I was admitted it was climbing and topped out at stroke level. I was there until they got it down to normal and sent home, so now I'm on a daily med for it. I belive my BP had been given me a problem I just didn't realize it since I never had it before. I'm now moving at a slower pace. I really hate to talk about it but felt that I needed to let yall know that and why we had abandoned the shop. So we will be there today at noon until 5 today and all day Saturday and continue to be there on our regular days. I thank everyone that has been to the shop and purchased trees and to the followers and hopefully from new buyers. We like for people to just stop and see what we have and let us know what yall are interested in. We do enjoy showing off the building and telling people it's story.
