It's time to sail away to the next chapter after 24 wonderful years. We are closing South River Outfitters, our last day open will be March 29. We are so stoked to have been given these "Demand Clean Water" signs. These were made by waterkeeper Marty Baum back in 2018 for some protests. Marty is no longer with us but the fight continues for clean water.

Dec. 13, Santa Lucia's Day. It was this day in the late 1500's, a group of Spaniards travelling south from St Augustine reached a river too broad to cross. It was at this site they built a small fort on the river. The fort was named Santa Lucia after the 3rd century martyr celebrated that day. The fort was short lived but the name stuck and we now call the "broad" river the St.Lucie. Celebrate our struggling but beautiful river today.
