Can you help us FIND RUNE?!

Rune is a Traveling Viking Gnome — and an absolute legend in their own right. They arrived in Downtown Stoughton on March 16th and will be roaming our streets until they departs after Syttende Mai Weekend to return to the stunning fjords of Norway.

A few things you should know about Rune: They love solo transatlantic travel. They are a Tenured Professor of Norse Mythology. They have side hustles in Interior Design, unapologetically listens to Swedish Death Metal, has an affinity for dark chocolate and axe throwing, fiercely supports local small business, and is currently writing their first memoir — Pillaging the Patriarchy.

Here’s how it works: Rune is hiding somewhere in a Downtown Stoughton business. Find them and you win the prize in their basket! There’s only one winner per hour, so once the prize is claimed, they’ll move on another location in the store. Come downtown, explore our shops, and let the search begin!

Calling all knitters — our 6th Annual World Wide Knit in Public Walk & Knit Competition is coming up on June 13th and we need YOU!

Here’s the deal: walk a short course and knit as many rows as you can in 10 minutes. No stopping, no running — just walking and stitching! It’s fun, it’s silly, and it’s one of our favorite events of the year.

We are debuting a limited-edition, limited-quantities Punch Needle Kit exclusively for the 2026 Syttende Mai Festival. The kits go on sale Friday, May 15th, when we open at 10AM. First-come, first-served. This rosemaling design, inspired by Ann Nelson, has been turned into a hand-curated needle-punch kit. The kit includes a silk-screened canvas, 11 worsted-weight yarns, a hoop, a punch needle, and directions created by Spry Whimsy’s Owner, Ingrid McMasters.
