We are deeply saddened to share with you the sudden passing of our fellow local artisan and friend, Heidi Borgel Urbanski. Heidi was a dedicated member of the Winter Craft Market Committee from 2009 to 2019 serving as director from 2013 forward. She also participated in the People’s Choice Festival in Boalsburg. Heidi started her artisan journey with Everyday Angels, her stained-glass sun catchers. From there she branched out into stained glass jewelry, creating pieces from colored glass and gemstones using the copper foil method. She often re-purposed everyday items into stunning creations. She would also make custom jewelry pieces for customers who had special stones, shells, etc. Some of her pieces made it all the way to Hollywood and were worn on the TV show The Vampire Diaries, and also by a member of the band ZZ Top. She loved football and was an avid fan of her beloved Buffalo Bills.
She was a strong leader and guided the WCM through several venue and committee transitions. She had a desire for the show to always be the best it could be for the State College community. She was a unique soul who was always full of energy and never backed down from a challenge. Her quick wit and sense of humor were timeless.
Heidi was a wonderful mother to her daughter, Maya and her son, Jack. She was extremely proud of all of their accomplishments through their years of school and college. Our thoughts and prayers are with her children and her family.
Heidi’s celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 29 from 1:00-4:00pm at Toftrees Resort, State College, PA.

It is with tremendous sadness that we share with all of you today to let you know of the sudden loss of our dear friend, fellow artist, and Winter Craft Market Committee member Jen Barger on Wednesday evening. Our hearts are truly broken! Our thoughts and prayers are with her loving husband Greg, her two wonderful sons Clayton (11th grade) and Samuel (9th grade) and the rest of her family. For us on the Committee, Jen was our ray of Carolina Sunshine. Her quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and boundless energy will be sorely missed. Her fun-loving personality and the light she radiated enveloped everyone she came in contact with. We will forever remember her as a warm, bright, loving friend who left this world way too soon.

Attached below is the link for her services along with donation information. We are especially close to the State College Boy Scout Troop #245 as Greg, Clayton, and Samuel have served as official greeters at the front entrance table of the Winter Craft Market for the past 4 years.

Forty-eight years, going strong, and a record attendance! Thank you for making the Winter Craft Market a tradition and favorite in our community. We're grateful for our amazing patrons, artists, and volunteers who make our annual holiday show a continued success. To our returning shoppers and newcomers alike, thank you for coming out to support our local Pennsylvania artists.

To our talented artists, your work is always impressive. We're thrilled to have you back and welcome our new artists who joined us this year. Your hard work and creativity shine through.

Thank you to Nittany Valley Sports Centre for being wonderful hosts, to the Nittany Dreamers Baton and Silk Corps for their performance and help, to Troop 245 for volunteering, and to Big Froggy 101 for broadcasting live and showcasing the event.

It’s a wonderful community event reconnecting with artists, meeting new ones, supporting creative small business owners, and the wonderful experience of crossing paths with friends.

Here's to a joyous holiday season and looking forward to next year's show!
